About Type Your Fate
Play like before, fear like never before
Type your fate. Arm yourself with your keyboard and your wits, and try to escape from the abandoned house where you are. Unfortunately, you won't be alone...
Yes, but what the hell is this?
Type Your Fate is an 'old school' style text-based interactive fiction game in which you will have to do everything using a command console, from moving to interacting with the things around you (just like the mythic 1980s Infocom's Zork games but with illustrations and sound).
Do you like escape rooms?
What about an entirely, lonely, and abandoned house with a maniac assassin inside? You will have to find the numbers of the exit door's code and escape before assassin finds you, But be silence and be quick because he is chasing you all the time even when you stand in the same place without doing anything.
Your keyboard will be your best ally
You will need to give commands to the game console so you can move among rooms, check interactive objects, and interact with key items or events. You must be quick and silent, but you must decide wisely too. You must priorize your actions so you can escape!
Main Features
- Totally immersive experience: Experience a terrifying atmosphere that will make you feel as if you were in that abandoned house yourself.
- Mystery: Investigate and explore an abandoned house with up to 17 different rooms to unravel its hidden mysteries.
- The different faces of evil: Up to four different murderers will try to end your life. Don't allow it.
- Greater interaction: Up to 68 different interactive objects distributed throughout all the rooms.
- Endless Challenges: Randomly generated trivia and math challenges.
- Replayability: Each game is different. The main entrance door code will never be the same, the hint devices will never be in the same place, even the killer can change.
- True retro experience and challenging difficulty: Just like in the games of the 80s you will not have at your disposal any comfort that there is now. You will not have complex tutorials, you will not be able to save the game, you will not be able to use the mouse or the gamepad, and even if you want to adjust the sound volume or the difficulty of the game you will have to do it from the command line as it was done back then. Did I mention That in those days after a Game Over you had to start the game from the beginning?
- Customization: The multimedia resources are available for your own modifications. Change the assassin voice, their faces, the sound effects, the background music, even change the rooms and their animations.
Author's Notes (transparency and honesty)
I am fully aware that not everyone is going to like this proposal or the experience that Type Your Fate can offer you. That's why, as a player rather than a developer, I highly recommend you try the demo before purchasing the game. If after trying the demo you like the experience then go ahead, and if not, then don't buy this game.
Special dedication
I would like to reserve this small section to dedicate a few words to Troki. For me, Troki was much more than a dog, he was a faithful companion, my best friend and another member of my family. Without his love and company, projects like this would never have been possible. If there is a heaven for dogs I hope Troki is in it. Thanks for all these years. For Troki.

Very short and hard to get through, because it crashes a lot (which, in fact, can make your gameplay not so short after all). Constantly on 3fps which makes the typing smooth as the Balkan roads. But all in all, fun concept, hard work appreciated with the imagery and mechanics, and all my blessings to Troki. "All dogs go to heaven"2 found this helpful
*Type Your Fate*, developed and published by Zollkron, presents a fresh take on the text-based horror adventure genre, combining nostalgic interactive fiction elements with a modern, tense atmosphere. Released in early access in 2024, the game plunges players into the unsettling challenge of escaping an abandoned house while being relentlessly pursued by a mysterious assassin. The core experience revolves around exploration, puzzle-solving, and quick decision-making, with a strong emphasis on player agency through typed commands that evoke the feel of classic text adventures but with updated storytelling and audiovisual support. Players navigate through a house consisting of up to seventeen rooms, each filled with obstacles, clues, and puzzles that must be solved to uncover the exit code and make a successful escape. The gameplay demands attentiveness and fast thinking, as the assassin’s presence looms constantly, creating a thrilling tension that drives the pace forward. This sense of imminent danger is amplified by the lack of modern conveniences such as save points, meaning every choice carries weight, and mistakes can be costly. The game further enhances replayability through …1 found this helpful
hi dev I REALLY love what the game is going for, but it needs some bug fixing 1st, 2 times the game crashed on me while I was in the kitchen. The 2nd time I had just typed check stove, hit enter, and it crashed. 1st time may have been the same but I can't say with certainty- it was definitely in the kitchen though. 2nd, there is a very strange lag when typing. the letters dont appear until half a second after typing them, which makes backspacing and hitting delete alot more tedious. This isn't a game breaker but still I think could be improved. Otherwise I absolutely love it and will definitely change to positive if you can remedy the first issue mainly. Haven't been able to get past that1 found this helpful
As a web developer who frequently uses command lines, I found this game particularly enjoyable. The challenge of typing your next move while recalling what you've previously checked adds a layer of complexity. It offers a unique way to navigate and solve problems, especially with the added pressure of escaping the killer. Overall, it's a fun and intellectually stimulating experience.1 found this helpful
Very good retro typing horror. The feeling is really that you're in а horror place and danger lurks everywhere. If you like typing games, escape rooms, resolve misteries and puzzles - that's your game for sure. There is also a demo that you must try! I recommend it!1 found this helpful
