This Is Not Your House

Story is bland, there's little to no horror, lasts less than 10 minutes per ending. Was expecting something more engaging that would make me feel unease but everything about this is very straight forward. Sound and art is great, wasted potential overall. Couldn't recommend even for this price.

This was waaay better than I expected, and I had good expectations! Half an hour to all ten or so endings, some really good and creative. A bit of a cautionary tale (exaggerated ofc) on the fragility of most things society and personal frugality? I don't know, I just know Roger. Good lad.

Great short "visual novel". Can take like 40 minutes to see all endings. Has a screen reader for blind people, because it was developed by a blind person. For a dollar price, you can risk it an buy it.

Surreal, yes, but not in a good way. You can't just write something nonsensical and then expect it to be good because "[i]lol that's so surreal lol[/i]". It's surreal for the sake of being surreal. It fails to actually accomplish anything with it, there's no depth, there's no punchline... Well, there is: the punchline for the surrealism is that it is surreal. That's not good to me. I think that is bad writing. It's obviously very cheap so I'm not offended or anything, but it being cheap does not mean it is then deserving of a positive review, and it doesn't mean that you shouldn't give it a negative review. I have a feeling that this game would have many more negative reviews if it was priced just slightly higher but many people refrain from publishing a negative review because of the price, making the review score inaccurate because people just go "[i]ugh... whatever[/i]" and move on when they see the price and the positive review score. This game is stupidly short and not written well, just let me whoop the ♥♥♥♥ out of these demons, why do I have to also get the 1 correct path or have a bittersweet ending? Words is a pretty good song though, which you can look up on youtube so you don't even need to buy this game.

Short and entertaining, this is a series of unfortunate events to our boy Roger. He deserves none of this but he does as we choose, with varying results of success, but all choices are entertaining to read. You got 10 endings, of which I recommend just making save states at every set of choices to speed up the process. The experience is very short, but this game is also $1 so take that as you will. But the story holds nothing back, there are some genuine haunting but also hilarious moments, and the achievement portraits look really cool.
