Nope. It's not random. I just played a game where I took the lead with 1:35 left in the game, they had no time outs. They got 10 plays off and scored. Do not buy this game. all you will do is get angry. I don't mind being beat, it's cheating that I can not stomach. Your QB will NOT throw the ball to the open receiver 60% of the time, no matter what play you design they just will not do it. Player Int. appears to make no difference at all. I just tried it again, it's worse than ever. Your QB will ignore open players and throw into triple coverage and your QB is rated over 100. Your defense can have 80's at every position and you will not be able to stop anyone. This game has potnetial, but right now, one penny is too much as it's not playable in a way that let's you feel you control anything. -10 out of 10

TL/DR: Marvelous game. Over 25 years of loving Pro Football front office simulators. As noted in other reviews, it's less complex as compared to similar games, and this really works well for it. The game has a great addictive flow. The less complexity means an opportunity to further the game as there are elements of roster construction that are too simplified. The contract system, while successful in making sure this game never feels too tedious, doesn't reflect the interesting drama of pro contracts. In this game, you can re-sign your QB MVP to only 1 year contracts for his entire career following his draft contract because the AI only wants a certain per year number. Trade offs I guess. A solution would be an option for an in-depth contract negotiation mode. The roster requirements don't match pro football, for example you must have 2 kickers and 2 punters on the roster at all times. I guess I have no choice but to role play as a very eccentric Pro GM lol. Nitpicks aside, this game is fun and recommend you try.

I have 382.9 hours of time into this game. I mean wow have I played this game! So, this review does not come from someone that is a "casual player" This is a tough one to rate for a couple of reasons. 1: There really is no other game out there like this, and overall it is "fun" and has great ideas 2: The game has serious flaws in many aspects. So, how do I review? I know no one is going to read this so I won't waste a lot of time. If someone DOES read this and have more questions, then comment on my review and I'll answer. So, let's get the fun part out of the way..... yes, it's cool, you can draft, update rosters, make plays etc, etc, you can be the "coach" and choose EVERY PLAY (that is the best part for me). And overall, the game is smooth and has enough "depth" that it is good. Now the bad. Honestly, I am doing the "legacy" game mission, which is 25 seasons and then they post your final score in the community page or something. Well, I am like 21 seasons in. I was building the first 4 years and then I have won SEVENTEEN super bowls in aa row and have NOT LOST a game in 17 years. So, as you can imaging, once you get the game mechanics understood. It's ok 7 out of 10...I've play worse games. There is a new mode where you can play 25 seasons from scratch, rebuilding a team and then your results are compared against others around the world. I ain't tried that mode yet but I think I will for the challenge.

This truly is a Franchise building game, while you can call plays and influence each game the graphics are poor compared to something like madden. On top of that the game crashes sometimes when starting a new season which can be frustrating when your 10 years in and starting to build a really good team. So why have I recommended this ? Well it's about looking at your teams weakness and trading to strengthen about the Draft and trying again the next season. The graphics might not be top notch but the gameplay is strangely satisfying. Hopefully the developers will intime resolve the crashing issue because this is actually a good game
