i love love loved mark, luca, and theo's routes (sorry tristan) <33 this game left me wanting more! when i first finished mark's route i was like wait...! this is it? but i am overall very pleased and surprised that this game was free. i'm already looking for more like it :p

Under Maintenance is a charming and relatable otome game where your favorite dating sim goes down for maintenance, so you step out into real life instead. The idea feels fresh and cozy. The writing is funny, warm, and sometimes emotional. The characters are likeable, and the customization options (skin tone, hairstyle, accessibility settings) make it feel very inclusive. Some routes are shorter or less deep than others, and the pacing can feel uneven. Still, it’s a fun and well-made indie game that stands out for its realistic and modern premise. Rating: 8/10

Did I 100% this game? Yes. Did I unlock all the achievements? Yes. Do I recommend this game? ... no. I didn't find any of the story lines engaging or even particularly good. I was disinterested and bored while playing which usually while playing some type of Otome/Dating Sim game isn't that bad because the visuals keep me going. However, that was not the case for this game. The visuals and story were both unappealing. I was able to finish this game due to a particularly bad flare up of my need to 100% things, and a desperate attempt to find at least one good story. One story that was adorable. I did not find that story.

I like that it finishes in 5 chapters, and how all the love interests aren't connected to each other, but know each other, and they all appear in each route. The bit where you text your best friend (that you can name) throughout the development even if they don't physically appear in the game. I think it shows how the choices you made shows the development between the love interests. I don't really care for most of the love interests. Not that their characters won't be interesting to some people, just my preference. It could be because of the short game. It doesn't feels rushed, though, and I enjoyed the plot of the routes. My favorite is Mark. When I say I don't care for most of the love interests, I mean, that everyone else is beside Mark I don't care for. He pops up the most in all the love interest routes. However, I like the "push back" of the route. I would explain better, but I'll just leave that for when someone plays it, or later in the review, where I'll say ---Spoilers---. I guess the shorthand version is that I get more emotional reactions in this route vs. the others. My second is Tristian. I enjoyed how the MC meets him, and some of the "blunders" that happ…
