Unity Invaders

Unity Invaders is a free to play "Space Invaders" ripoff put together with Unity. It's a bare bones 2D retro pixel arcade shoot 'em up that lacks even some of the deeper nuance of Space Invaders (from 1978). It was assembled as a high school project and lacks any aspects of professional game development. Resolution and controls are locked, and can't be changed or customised to improve the visuals or the control experience. A choice was made to use obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. The developers were unable to make the game work properly in widescreen, it displays 4:3 pillarboxed. It's unclear if these flaws are due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. These flaws push this game far below minimum acceptable standards for PC. It's great that Unity allows high school students to learn how to make video games. It doesn't mean that it's okay for them to dump this garbage on Steam to make the average quality of video games worse. Itch.io and Kongregate are the proper dumping grounds for this kind of junk. Уровни разнообразные, с разными паттернами движения врагов и бонусами, которые периодически выпадают, добавляя динамики. Оружие стандартное, но его достаточно для эффективного уничтожения захватчиков. Звуковое сопровождение лаконичное и атмосферное, не отвлекает от происходящего на экране. Игра идеально подойдет для тех, кто хочет быстро и ненавязчиво отдохнуть, освежить в памяти классику, или просто ищет незамысловатый, но увлекательный time-killer. Сложность нарастает постепенно, заставляя адаптироваться и улучшать свои навыки. Из минусов можно отметить возможное однообразие после нескольких часов непрерывной игры, но кратковременные сеансы это исключают.
