About Unquiet Grey

You wake up by the side of the road with a headache and a stranger's jacket. You don’t recognise it. You don’t recognise the man whose ID you find in the pocket, either. So why does an older version of you stare back when you turn on his phone?...And why is she smiling beside him?Unquiet Grey is a visual novel about love and grief. It features:
  • An emotional love story wrapped in a timeloop tragedy. Over 11k words or around an hour of romance, heartbreak and mystery.
  • Gorgeous original art. Watch the story come to life through beautiful illustrations by Asrielle, creator of the webcomic Queen's Trial. An in-game camera mode allows for easy viewing.
  • An original soundtrack that combines soft guitar and an indie rock feel.
  • A nameable protagonist and love interest. Customise the experience or leave names as default.
  • An adorable doggo
  • A silver-haired sweetheart to love over and over and over. You can't save him. But that's okay. You'll just go back and see him again. And again and again-

There wasn't a moment of this game where I wasn't crying after the first loop. Very beautiful little game, I highly recommend it, but definitely be careful if the source material might be triggering for you. It's a very heartbreaking experience. Good job, developers!

Despite this being a short story it had me sobbing by the end. I found the storytelling to be emotionally impactful, the music and art are gorgeous as well and everything fit together perfectly for a gut-punch. The ending broke my heart - what a tough choice to make. But it felt so grounded in reality, and despite some elements of the writing not being as strong in my opinion, they didn't detract from my appreciation and emotional investment. I got the supporter pack & soundtrack, and I'm looking forward to playing the other games from Endysis.

Well, the joke is on the developer. I had already planned on bawling like a baby today anyway. This is not your typical visual novel. It is short, but it is really well written. It delves into grief, loss, and letting go. I realised rather soon that there would be no true "happy" ending to be had, in the visual novel sense of the word. The ending was bittersweet but also quite beautiful. I don't believe I have ever been so moved by a visual novel, and I play a lot of these. i cannot recommend this one enough. It is free. So, you have zero to lose playing it.

OH MY! Just finished the game and I'm still in tears. I normally do not cry because of games especially short ones but this one? Oh it hurt me. The art is beautiful and both characters are visually stunning. The story itself is short but I'm so amazed at how the artist(s) managed to do it. It's seriously good. I hope that the game gets more recognition because it really deserves it! <3
