About The Day Before You Gone

Set in a medieval fantasy world, an era filled with magic and dangers at every step. The main protagonist, Nicole, discovers her magical abilities and falls deeply in love with a simple guy from the neighboring town.

As a natural cataclysm divides the Empire into two parts, enmity erupts between the peoples, and the heroes find themselves on opposite sides. The rift in the universe echoes the rift in Nicole's heart. She realizes that she will never see her beloved again. Or will she have a chance to turn back time? Is it worth chasing the initial feelings, sacrificing the destinies of her loved ones, or accept her fate?
The karma system allows players to accumulate or decrease the parameter based on the moral choices, leading to different endings. A psychological survey forces players to confront themselves, compelling honest answers and sharing events from their past.

Featuring a unique hand-drawn visual style, divided into two meaningful parts: a first-person perspective and the heroine's narrative through showcased sketches in an album. Over 100 exclusive background arts, animations and full-fledged video-cut-scenes.

Utilizing 16 live instruments to compose the background music: guitars, drums, harps, violins, Japanese mandolin, Chinese guqin, Arabic oud and more. An exclusive soundtrack from a Russian singer, written specifically for the game's narrative. Professional Russian voiceover.
Features:
• the karma system and its impact on endings
• the demolition of the fourth wall
• plot twist based on opportunities to play with time
• QTE events and mini-games
• in-game bonuses: built-in achievements, a map, a description of the universe
• hidden by developers treasures within Russia's territory, with in-game coordinates leading to them

If you like reading , but have no time to read a book, this might be something to enjoy instead, because it actually is a book in which you play an important part. You are a young girl, who sells milk at the market until you discover, that you have strong magic abilities, which gives you the opportunity to work for the highest authorities in the country. A divided country though after a meteorite struck and left an insurmountable cleft and hostile keaders on each side. But not Insurmountable for Mages , which are able to build portals. Your decisions, whom and how you will support in the upcoming events will make a big difference, for the country, for the people and for yourself and the people you care about. I really enjoyed the story - quite well written - as well as the dialogues and I did not mind the russian voiceover, on the contrary, it adds some extra atmosphere. And I absolutely loved the beautiful art.

Fantasy VN where you decided the fate of a divided world. The story follow Nicole, a young girl gifted with magical powers. After a meteor from the sky divides the world in two, she becomes the king's advisor. Both sides are now at war, and the North is governed by an Orc king. To make matters better, you and your squad of colorful characters are dispatched to acquire components for a powerful magic. It does not depart from the visual novel template. You read the content, click to continue to the next section, and make decisions. For a game not originally written in English, the script is great and reads nicely. Similar games frequently have issues with grammar, so it's a pleasant surprise that there isn't much of it here. There are still a few typos, but it's not too bad. The artwork appears to be real-life pictures processed via a painting filter. The colors are subtle, but you can tell this isn't a real painting. The text size could have been bigger for easy reading, and I am not a fan of the font. It has a medieval look, but I wish there was another alternative. While the narrator speaks, albeit in Russian, other characters are silent and talk in speech bubbles at the bott…

Pros 1. Good Art 2. Good Story 3. Good, beautiful, well developed characters 4. Mini Games and Interactivity with a Narrator 5. System works well and in-game achievements, just a few grammar errors but I am grateful that it was translated into English anyway and mostly understandable Definitely going to a game to remember for me and I play quite a lot of visual novels (I've been an avid gamer for over 10 years) so that's definitely saying something. 6. The Voice Acting and Music are beautiful to listen to. 7. The Ending Sequences are personalized and great. Cons 1. Too sentimental at times 2. Minigames can be a little intrusive and a little tricky but not too hard 3. Romance descriptions are a little maudlin but I thought it was just so wholesome in this genre Rating: 9.5/10 - This is a true gem of a visual novel.

First off I got it on sale for around 2.30 and yes it was worth the price. It is a wonderful tale about moral choices and also how making small every day choices can shape us. I loved the story it was well worth reading it, I even did not mine the voice over being in another language. Sometimes I find it too overwhelming and distracting to read the english subs when the voice over is not in english as well. I liked the concept of a split nation due to environmental crisis and how sometimes a king can have a "frog in the well" type of perspective. The character you are making decisions for also has their own emotions and desires. I did find it rather annoying that she was inlove with a... pick pocket that did not seem to have feelings for her as well? Not sure if it was something I could have changed but my ending was a decent one with both nations working together. All's well that ends well I suppose. I would like to add the diversity of races was and types of people in the story kept me interested. I would have loved to explore more connections with other people. The elves and orcs were really quite interesting but not only that. I would have loved to see how the mc d…

The Day Before You Gone, developed by Aequalis Studio and published by Aequalis Studio together with Antelus Games, is a narrative-focused indie adventure that blends visual novel storytelling with light interactive gameplay and emotional fantasy themes. The game centers on a young girl who possesses mysterious magical abilities and finds herself confronting a devastating personal loss. Driven by grief and a desperate desire to change what has already happened, she begins a journey that blurs the boundaries between memory, destiny, and time itself. The story explores how a single tragic event can ripple through someone’s life and examines the emotional consequences of trying to undo the past. At its core, the experience is heavily narrative-driven. Players spend much of their time following the unfolding story through dialogue sequences, internal reflections, and character interactions that gradually reveal the protagonist’s circumstances. The game approaches its storytelling with a reflective tone, focusing on themes such as regret, responsibility, and the emotional burden of difficult choices. Rather than presenting the story as a simple fantasy adventure, the narrative leans to…
