About Uriel’s Chasm 3: Gelshock
Rail/ slave and Isserley* present
Uriel's chasm 3: Gelshock
You wake up...the gelatinous, adrenochrome saturated subject of an ancient prophecy, formulated by a brotherhood of abandoned sentient machines; stuck on the cusp of an evolutionary leap.
Be prepared to explore an eerie, rusting deep sea mining platform tangibly rendered and hand dithered in the restricted NES color palette .
Fight your way through original, turn based dice battles and white knuckle, "graze" based, bullet hell boss battles on your quest to find out what exactly happened when the crude oil grave of an ancient race was disturbed, over a hundred years ago.
Selfie :sisters of the amniotic lens inspired bottle system (via discord community)
Featuring all new music from Day 8's bottle maiden and witch house visionary Isserley* https://isserley.bandcamp.com/
*Isserley appears courtesy of the incubator
Box art by https://www.deviantart.com/eyeofvogler/gallery/
Controls
Arrow keys to move, spending your roll when it is your turn. (You can freely move in combat where your roll becomes the damage you deal)
Z -> does most of the work / activates graze in the bullet hell sections.
X -> is used to clear the screen in bullet hell, at the expense of one notch of charge.
Space -> zooms you out to the map screen
Esc -> brings up pause where there are options such as -
Q -> quit
R -> recap the mission
+/- -> volume
S/L -> save/ load
General hints:-
- Pause and use R to recap your current objective
- Remember to zoom out and survey the floor you are on
- There is a shop where you can juggle your resources, But beware, its on the most dangerous floor in the game and conveniently great for grinding crafting materials.
- take your time to learn the patterns in the bullet hell, you will not fail the game if you die.
- In the turn based battle remember that the enemy dice is also counting down, be cautious of their next roll, it could be the critical unleashing 6.

If you come from that era, when you would buy nes games thinking is the lastest technology but for real you only got them extremelly cheap because non ps2 consoles died decades ago witouth even knowing about ps2 existance. Then this is that game you left in the bottom of the shoe box because you don't know wtf is it about or how to play it. Eventually one day you don't go to work/school because the entire planet is dying from some laboratory created chinese bio weapon that they forgot to lock down properly. Tha's when you realized you tired of playing the good and fun games and want to torture yourself playing some bizarre ♥♥♥♥ you forgot you had. Well this is the game in the bottom of that shoe box. I really hated the combat system and literally everything, but at the same time "played" to figure wtf was the dev thinking when making this whole mess. I still don't know wtf was going on in the story. But it bring those memories back where you played stuff nobody heard about and you did your best effort to figure how the ♥♥♥♥ you progress in the game, on those times where mom and dad won't let you use internet because there was that myth that you can only use internet 30 minutes b…3 found this helpful
The sequel to the sequel to the worst game on Steam, EVER!!!!!!!1, if reviews are to be believed, but I haven't actually played the other Uriel's Chasm games, nor any other games by Rail Slave. I like Gelshock. It's short and strange, and has the same feeling as a horror short story, a vignette of a frightening world rather than a complete narrative set within it. I'm not too sure what to think about the gameplay. It's clunky and unconventional in ways that feel too intentional to just be a lack of development skill or polish, but not obviously relevant to the narrative either. Experimental for the sake of being experimental, perhaps?2 found this helpful
Yet again. I can't with this series. It might be the best one, but it still lackluster.1 found this helpful
One of rail slave's most stylish games, I love the extraneous HUDs and what I remember of the story. Like most rail slave games it is short and highly experimental with strange mechanics. Raw.1 found this helpful
