[/url][/code] The Forgotton Void: is a combination between a puzzle game and a turn based battle game. It is strange combination and it doesn't work that well. There are two worlds: The Celestial World (humans live here) and The Null World (evil creatures live here). Two guardians were chosen to fix the balance between both worlds. You are one of the guardians, but you lost your memory so you have no idea what to do. When you walk around in the world, you see a few houses. None of them can be entered. All bridges have some kind of locks. They need to be opened. Here the puzzle game comes in: you have to draw a line between the starting point and the end point. The puzzles get more difficult along the way, but it always stays the same kind of puzzle. You will arrive in a town where you can buy your equipment, potions, etc. There are a few NPCs you can talk to. And you can do a few quests. The Forgotten Void is a 2D retro pixel (sigh) turn based combat game coupled with a somewhat mismatch puzzle minigame (a simple line drawing/pathing puzzle game that's been done a million times better in free mobile apps). Gameplay consists of fighting enemies in what looks promisingly like a Zalda game but disappointingly is nothing like one, and then running into equally disappointing mobile-app puzzle minigames needed to cross bridges etc. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision.
