About Vacuum Pilot
Vacuum Pilot is a 2D speedrunning game with easy to learn but hard to master controls based on mouse movement.
Use the left mouse button to accelerate towards your mouse cursor. You keep most of your momentum so you can use that to drift smoothly around corners and other obstacles. The more you play, the more you will improve, and you will climb the leaderboards in no time!
Create your own levels using the same tools we use to create official levels! Upload your creations to the steam workshop and watch players compete for the fastest time on your level!
All Workshop levels can be played in Free Mode.
Every level, official and from the workshop, supports leaderboards where players can compete for the best time!
You can compare your times with friends too!
Combine parts to create your own unique space ship! Play the game and level up to unlock more parts!

Multiple game modes

Play Official and Workshop Levels, earn medals and climb the leaderboards!
The game will automatically match you up with other players playing the same level, so you can compare your times in a non-competitive environment. - Arcade Mode \
Complete random levels without crashing before the time runs out.
You have 3 lives per level. The time limit will be reduced with every completed level.
The more levels you complete in a run, the more XP you will earn. - Competitive Mode \
Play against other players of similar skill level and climb the rankings!
Leaderboards

Vacuum Pilot is a fast, skill-based arcade game that feels incredibly satisfying once you get the hang of its movement system. The game is well-suited for players who enjoy improving their performance and shaving off milliseconds on leaderboards. However, it can also be frustrating if you’re highly competitive, as small mistakes are heavily punished and consistency requires real precision. Overall, it’s a solid and engaging game, but it demands patience, accuracy, and genuine skill to fully enjoy.

What do you do in the game? Race through badly rendered, incredibly lazy 2D minimalist retro levels using spaceship mechanics ripped off from far better games like 1962's "SpaceWar!" vector games and 1980's Asteroids! from Atari. The graphics here are particularly awful, so bad that it actually stands out as one of the worst looking games on Steam. Quite an accomplishment. It's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. It is challenging, yet fun and addicting. Reminds me of some flash game too, so it’s nostalgic.
