About VED: Purification
VED is a story-driven RPG with a unique turn-based combat system and rogue-lite elements. Embark on a magical adventure set in a vivid world in stunning, hand-painted graphics. Explore mysterious islands, defeat monsters, and master the magic of the Veds! The free version "Purification" serves as a prologue to the main game so you can sample its combat system, narrative style and teleportation between the magical and human worlds, but not spoil the full story for yourself! Its events are set 30 years prior to the narrative of VED, following a different character, a Vedic warrior by the name of Dook, who fell in love with a magical being. But as the Vedic order is sworn to keep the magical and the mundane worlds separate, eliminating any semblance of magic from the human world, theirs is certainly a complicated love story; and it’s up to you to decide how it will end…

Interesting battle mechanics, a fascinating story - a very atmospheric game.3 found this helpful
"VED: Purification" is is not a game. It's an advertisement for a product called "VED". VED is more e-book than game, a simple CYOA e-book with some lightweight mobile/browser tier RPG combat tacked on pointlessly. But this isn't completely relevant because this is not VED, it's just an advertisment for it, so it's not correct to try to review that completely distinct product. We must instead review this for what it is... an advertisement. If you enjoy advertisements, you can consume them for free on the web or on Youtube without needing to add them to your game library, download them, and then launch the advertising. It's impossible in a general sense to recommend people should do that over playing real, full games on Steam, and that applies here with "VED: Purification" too. The purpose of this advertisement is to get you to shell out a whopping $25 USD on buying VED, and I don't recommend you do that either. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. As an advertisement, this is only free in the same way that adverts on Youtube and banner ads in your browser are. This is a game demo that's been dumped on Steam to advertise another Steam store page in the hopes of raking …2 found this helpful

this was very interesting and can be played more than once to try for different outcomes and i'll i'm sold enough to invest in the full game, i really liked the unique battle system and the interesting choices and consequences
6.5/10 RPG with positional turn-based fights TLDR: this game achieves nice looks it sketch-like 2D graphics. Battles look simple yet promising, hard to tell from the prologue. Good: + free (prologue, essentially a demo) + despite the simple 2D images used here, the animations and the special effects make a nice impression + good music, sfx and voiceovers + battles seem fine though somewhat simplistic. Maybe more abilities unlock in the later chapters So-so: +/- the story here is surely told with pathos, and the voice actors are doing a great job. Yet to me _what_ is being said was meaningless or at least irrelevant Bad: - nothing During the first dialog with dice rolls, I was confused if the number after the dialog option means I need to roll above that number or if that's my ability stat. So, I picked an option with a high number first - which is wrong. Maybe this should be explained earlier. Or the dialog option should show "(req. 15)" or "(min 15)" or ">15" instead of just "15".
