Void Crawler is a first-person horror game set in a dystopian future. You pilot a drilling vehicle nicknamed “The Mole” into a mysterious underground void to extract a rare and powerful crystal for a corporation that claims it can solve the world’s energy crisis.
You play as Marcus Everett, a veteran tank operator and machinery expert, who has withdrawn from duty after the tragic loss of his 12-year-old daughter. I really dig the vibe of this game. Explore creepy underground caverns that....pulse? deal with weird earthquakes and odd...occurrences. heck yes. also, very eldritch and the ending is very very cool and worth the time. Sure some of the scary bits didn't hit for me (IMO letting the eerie atmosphere and just slightly off things in the cavern would have been better than the whole...cake stuff) but this is a worthwhile experience and I'll be checking out what else this dev has created1 found this helpful

Carried narratively and by the atmosphere with gameplay that gets the job done and nothing more. Very point A to point B in structure. I think it's strongest appeal had to be the very Dead Space-y visuals and brand of psychological trickery. I haven't really seen it replicated as well as here anywhere else. For overt reference I am hinting at the cosmic influencing of the marker from those games.1 found this helpful
Intriguing, but marred by a lack of polish.
Audio is unbalanced with only one slider which doesn't even effect the main menu music, the first voiceline I'm pretty sure isn't even affected by your volume. I'm unsure about the first guy but the second guy uses an AI voice which is kinda annoying. I played for six minutes and only just got to the part where *maybe* there was some gameplay everything else was just extremely slow unskippable cutscenes where you're just waiting for something to finally happen. After that I couldn't even be bothered to keep playing.
