What Steam players say

Players praise this metroidvania for its excellent exploration freedom, rewarding progression system with satisfying ability upgrades, and approachable difficulty that doesn't overwhelm less experienced players. Common complaints are minimal, though some wish the game offered more challenge, and most agree it's a solid, enjoyable experience rather than a genre-defining masterpiece.
I boot up the game and IMMEDIATELY get jumpscared by throat singing XwX Other than that though I wouldn't say the music is anything special. Gameplay is solid, but nothing groundbreaking. Difficulty is meh, if you know which tools to use you can pretty much melt any boss. There are also a metric sheep ton of health upgrades, like, the healthbar reaches to the other end of the screen by the time you get them all. This pretty much encourages face-tanking all attacks and mashing the attack button until everything dies. Healing items are a little limited even when you've collected all of them and they don't do much healing, unless you use a charm to increase it. COMPLETIONISTS BEWARE! To get all the achievements you'll have to complete the game no less than FIVE times - once for the normal run, three times for all the new game+ difficulties and one more time in Hardcore mode (where you can't die). I didn't find this fun at all and saw it as a needless addition to pad the gameplay. That aside, if you're a filthy casual that only plans to go through the game once - I'd say go for it!5 found this helpful
a good metroidvania. there is something about the combat/movement i don't love...it's almost like it's too responsive. traversal is awesome, but i feel like i get hit when i shouldn't sometimes. enjoying it though.3 found this helpful
It's a good game. I honestly didn't like much of the upgrades or the enemies. I really felt like I was just slapping everyone the whole game. I wantes do see the combat going a little bit futher. Regardless, the progression was good and the maps were interesting. Not the best metroidvania, but definitely not the worst3 found this helpful
Very well designed game with excellent exploration and art. Combat is a little dull at first but improves as you discover new abilities.2 found this helpful
A solid metroidvania with a unique visual that isn't afraid of showing its inspiration front and center. Combat is simplistic but responsive and movement is fast paced and precise. Great pickup for anyone looking for some more hollow like games.2 found this helpful
