About VR Scape

VR Scape is a semi-open world RPG aimed for putting you right on the medieval battlefield. Work your way up from a lowly village peasant to one of the mightiest warriors in the land and one of the last remaining spellcasters. Fight the hordes of Goblins, Orcs, necromancers, and skeletons. How do you want to fight? With a sword, two swords, a giant sword? Or how about a staff, using magic unlike any other? Or perhaps the ever classic bow and arrow, fighting enemies from afar before they have the chance to hurt you? The choice is yours. It is your destiny to clear these monsters from the land and claim victory!

Features:
  • 6 large zones to explore and fight your way through, including areas such as deserts and mountainous regions
  • Over 140 quests to complete, fitted with rewards to suit your combat needs
  • Multiple skills to level up including woodcutting, mining, and cooking
  • Over 200 items to find and use around the world
  • Multiple combat types including melee, magic, and ranged
  • Two locomotion options: teleportation and touchpad walking

I played this game for a little while as it looked like a really interesting idea. The developer is ambitious, but as it stands now, I can't suggest getting it for $15. Here are some of the issues I had in the first 15 minutes. -If you aren't holding something, you can't see your hands, makes interaction a bit harder -The quests seem to reset randomly, and there is no way to save beyond the auto-save. -There is no tutorial, you have to figure out everything through a lot of trial and error -There is no quest markers or indicators, you just have to wander around until you find where you are supposed to go. -Combat is a tad dry. -Had a lot of issues picking up objects, as they would suddenly melt into the ground. -Game lags even on low settings with a high end machine. That being said... This game looks like it could be really, really, really cool. But a lot of the basics are missing, and really take away from the experience. It is a single developer and they seem to be very responsive, so I have no doubt things will quickly improve. But as of right now, it has a lot of issues with the bare bones of the game.

well looks like another game dumped on by a dev. as it has been almost 6 months with no news or updates. As an early release this is sad, cuz it loooks like this game can have alot of potential. well another $15 gone to waste

I want to like this game but you're not making it easy. I can't pick up half the drops, I dont understand how to use the floating inventory, I am gaining EXP but haven't leveled yet and I don't know if its because I haven't finished a quest yet, or if i haven't killed enough baddies. You have a good concept but your execution is frustrating. Having said that, I still appreciate the effort and will keep an eye on updates.

The first 15mns made me want to refund this game. The menu interaction being the most egregious issue. Edit: Dev pushed an update within hours. But once I got past that and lowered the in game graphics, I was quickly doing a few quests and fighting skeletons trying to lvl up. As with a game of this ambition it's obviously going to have some hiccups. From wonky items fighting to get into your inventory to a giant 2d moon rising in the middle of the quarry. But I certainly didn't find anything game breaking. My biggest gripe is that it could use some optimization. I had to set the in game settings at the second lowest setting to get it to run smooth. (i7 1080ti) Adjusting SS didn't help. Combat isn't Vanishing Realms caliber (shocking) but that's not it's selling point. I felt it was fine. Weapons have a short cooldown to prevent waggling. Two handed weapons have a longer cooldown than daggers ect... Edit: I blew through almost all the quests and content in close to 17hrs. If you're looking for an EA Elder Scrolls lite with loot, quests, and xp, then look no further.

Since the newest patch, the game is playable and has a lot of potential. As long as the developer continues to put upgrades to fix this and some other items, I would recommend this game.
