Dark: Frontier

Dark: Frontier is an Early Access free to play VR game that is a fantasy MMO hack and slay game. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. There is no solo mode, but does have a tutorial. You can host a server and start playing by yourself. Nobody is playing this Buggy game. Try it, but there are better games out there.

"Dark: Frontier" is an abandoned early access asset flip, the developer stole a bunch of Unity assets (Synty ones from the look of it) and tried to cash in on other people's work by assembling a very poor VR exclusive PvP MMO... it failed in a heap, of course. The developers abandoned this 7 years and 5 months ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. The game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $10 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality …
