Great game. You got a selection of 6 ships which all play different and can be upgraded during a run. Your goal is to save the waifus by removing their clothes. The gameplay is really fun and the music fits the scenery well. If you like Shmups with a challenging difficulty combined with puzzling elements to unlock all the secrets this is the game you are looking for.2 found this helpful
For a sequel of Waifu Discovered 2 (WD2), which is also a fine game, this one does not disappoint. On each stage the goal is to save waifu, by collecting shards. Shards are dropped by defeating enemy waves. When enough shards are collected a piece of clothing is removed and next stage of level starts, culminating with the boss at the end. Compared to WD2, the bosses in this game are more advanced, not necessarily harder (may depend on learning patterns and getting more familiar with the game). After each level a shop is available to buy upgrades for your ship. Game also gives you ability to buy resurrection coins, which are essentially continues, but you do not need to spend then in your current game session. What I found is good strategy is to play on normal difficulty to farm those coins. Then do next game session on arcade difficulty with those coins available. Note that if you want to chase high scores you don't want to use coins, since score resets on getting defeated. What keeps game interesting is that winning against specific bosses unlocks more ships to play with. Also on each win, a gallery is unlocked for each waifu, which gives more and more options the more time you…2 found this helpful
Much like Waifu 1 and 2, the skill floor can be pretty high and the skill ceiling even higher. Since this is now the third game in the series, much of my review is going to be compared to the first two entries. But also keep in mind, the engine was rebuilt from the ground up, this is not from the building blocks of the first two. Graphically, this blows the first two out of the water in terms of girls. The options you have when viewing them is vastly superior as well. The other design elements are suitable and in line with the series. This might be what you're here for. Music is enjoyable and higher energy this time. Helps keep you wanting to play even if you happen to lose. Story? You likely aren't playing this for it's story and that's okay! You are here to strip and save girls. That's the plot. This is similar to the first two. Difficulty, while the store page claims this is easier than the first two games, I *so far* have found the game to be harder. While Waifu 1 was fairly easy to complete and unlock everything, Waifu 2 demanded more completion runs to unlock everything. This game looks like it will require similar mastery to 2 as if you don't learn and practice you will…2 found this helpful
Waifu Discovered 3 is a great upgrade over Waifu Discovered 2. Fighting bosses is more fun then ever. Controls are really smooth and good. Art has never bin better then this. Waifu Discovered 3 is totally worth is.
That they are selling an "easy" mode DLC should tell you how difficult this game is. It's an extreme schmup and then some. NOT EASY. The bosses are downright sadistic and they probably wouldn't be so bad if their parts had a few less HP. Sometimes it's just easier to kill them if you can instead of trying to make things easier by shooting bullet spitting parts. I got up to 4 levels in arcade mode and I have no idea how anyone will handle expert mode. Then again, I'm not a schmup expert. Also, the goat is the meta here. I had difficulty with all the other characters and even the first character you get was seriously in trouble by the next to the last boss. However, the price is cheep, the girls are well drawn and the game is a fun time sink as long as you don't expect to win. Plays on Linux with Steam Proton 11 (CachyOS)
This game is hard to recommend, but I'm giving it a positive mainly because of Its low price, which means you have little to lose by giving it a try, but it has some design flaws that would have made it a tough sell if it were any more expensive. The art is nicer than previous entries in the series (which I played on Switch), so that's a plus. The shooting mechanics are fine, albeit quite simple. The main problem in the game is how overwhelming the enemies become in later stages, to the point where avoiding damage becomes all but impossible. And the boss fights teeter between boring and annoying. While winnable for the most part, the bosses tend to spend far too much time at or near the bottom of the screen, which wouldn't be so bad if you could shoot in any other direction aside from straight up. Imagine if they actually had some mechanics that required the player to pay more attention to positioning while giving the player the ability to shoot in multiple directions, twin-stick style... I played on Normal a few times, Beginner once and Arcade once. In no mode was any ship but the goat viable at all. Either too slow, too weak or too low on health to be worth bothering with espe…
