War Untold is a WW2 inspired strategy game where you command vast armies. Deploy a wide array of ground units, including infantry, mortars, artillery, and tanks. Rain destruction from above with close air support planes and bombers, while keeping your own skies clear with fighter coverage.
Command Sections and Platoons
Take control of the battlefield, issuing orders to the infantry and armor at your disposal. Take advantage of the fog of war to launch surprise attacks, or utilize carefully fortified positions anchored by defensive terrain to bludgeon offensives. Interesting concept, but there are quite a few bugs. Many units are broken or non-functional - they just move without attacking. I'll play a bit more, but so far it feels like an old version of Warcraft, lacking key features like quick selection or sub-groups.3 found this helpful
War Untold is definitely a RTS that reminisces of the earlier Starcraft days where the enemy (AI) feels like Zerg and you playing the Terrans. It could be worse being the Protoss and having an even more difficult delay in producing units early on. However a difficultly/issue that I faced was while getting through the tutorial my HQ was destroyed before I even finished getting through the tutorial. I think it would be best to have a tutorial level where the enemy isn't sending troops but instead allows you to understand how the, albeit simple nature of the game, units, building and sending troops works. Though you can you simply ignore the first couple battles and just endure by learning through defeat. Another issue with the AI is there incessant rushing of bombers/close support air units and going straight for the HQ while you're still getting some infantry units to build up a defense. Then the AI sends in their armored vehicles accompanied by artillery which causes havoc as you are trying to quickly assemble air units for defense and armored units to counter the AI's armor units. While it can be fun trying to balance out the overwhelming incoming attacks it feels repetitive a…1 found this helpful
The game is very good. It got tactic requirements, maps, units to control, but it got one MASSIVE problem: the AI on the start of each game get's 10 times more money than me and doesn't let me even start. It just immediately spams airforce and tanks out of THIN AIR and destroys me in 10 seconds. Please fix that, or add pausing and resuming.1 found this helpful
