I have been misled. There are fans of this series on the Choice of Games subreddit, and how they love Way Walkers so very much. Characters are great. I love 'em. Writing is fine, though it could use some culling. I've always found the "angel" characters entirely irrelevant and easily displaced by basic narration. The author relies way too much on dialogue for exposition, as if completely misunderstanding the intention behind "Show, don't tell". The author's note feels like a delusional joke. If anything, too little was actually written using too many words. I had hopes that Way Walkers: University 2 would improve from its predecessor. It did not. Though we are left with not a single plot line tied up, perhaps it is a mercy there isn't another installment. I hope to never lay my eyes on this title again.4 found this helpful
Wow managed to get killed faster than in the first book. And not even from a choice I made! Sad to think I wasted money on these two, wish the other book that was supposed to have been released yesterday had been released on time. Bottom line unless you like dying and trying to figure out why so as to avoid it again maybe on your next play through (Im sure only to be killed by something else) Id suggest a hard pass on this series.4 found this helpful
Death/random permanent disfigurement in a game with no save function is definitely annoying. The extremely young age of the protagonists also gives me pause, especially when it comes to the romances (fortunately romance only occurs between students, no adults involved). Ultimately, though, I have to give this game props for where it improves over its predecessor. Scene descriptions are less awkward, the characters are better developed, I felt like I had plenty of room for roleplaying, and typos and malapropisms were... well, not exactly absent, but much less noticeable than in the first installment. I'm looking forward to the third game, if/when it comes out. Hopefully less death will be involved.1 found this helpful
It's a fairly short follow up to the first part but replaying Way Walkers 2 was some nice nostalgic fun from when I used to be way into these games as well as adding on to such a cool and unique fantasy setting
