Western Bank VR

This is a pretty simple game, but I'm enjoying it. It takes a few tries to figure out how to throw the money bags, and the gun doesn't shoot the way you'd expect, but once you figure out how to compensate, it's fun. I prefer casual gaming, so I like a less intense game once in a while.

Remake of a classic - you work in a western styled bank, take money from nice customers and shoot the baddies. And like the original it's pretty fun. There is enough variety around the characters and it's not always clear who is good and who came to shoot you or steal from the bank. There are also some minigames like classic bottle shooting. This was first of few small annoyances in the game - aiming to shoot the bottles felt weird to me, like there was some kind of lag. Then there's throwing the money bag into window - I found it pretty difficult to hit it and most of the time the bag ended up on ground and no chance to do something about it. And the animations when starting level look good, but it would be nice if I could speed them up. I also kind of wish I could walk around the town as it looked pretty nice from the promo video. Game is awesome. Great for all ages.

I haven't 'panicked in a bank' like this, since the '80's. Classic implementation. A must for any video gaming fan.

Fun, but short wearing.

This is a 3D VR take on an old arcade game from the '80s called Bank Panic. It appears that it was designed to be a family friendly game, it isn't scary or violent (except for shooting cartoons). The basic idea is that customers or robbers will come through one of several doors and your job is to collect and throw bags of money into a safe or shoot the bad guys. In between levels, there are one of three different challenges: Shoot the right bad guy coming through a door, survive a bomb thrower that can’t be killed, or bottle shooting. The graphics are cartoonish, but that really doesn’t hurt the game. The sounds are pretty well done, although the music gets repetitive. For new players, some of the level changes and understanding what is supposed to be done has proven to be a bit of a problem. I had no trouble figuring it out, but had to explain things to several guests before they understood things like not shooting every man that walks through the door because he looks like he’s a bad guy. Holstering the guns takes a little practice and confused several people. The concept for the game play is pretty good, but more variety would have been welcome. It does get very repetitive and…
