What Lies in the Multiverse - Prologue

"What Lies in the Multiverse - Prologue" is not a game. It's an advertisement for a product called "What Lies in the Multiverse". What Lies in the Multiverse is yet another godawful 2D retro pixel platformer, one of literally thousands of these on Steam, lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere just by existing. But this isn't completely relevant because this is not What Lies in the Multiverse, it's just an advertisment for it, so it's not correct to try to review that completely distinct product. We must instead review this for what it is... an advertisement. If you enjoy advertisements, you can consume them for free on the web or on Youtube without needing to add them to your game library, download them, and then launch the advertising. It's impossible in a general sense to recommend people should do that over playing real, full games on Steam, and that applies here with "What Lies in the Multiverse - Prologue" too. The objective of this advertisement is to get you to fork out an eye watering $15 USD to buy the full game... and I don't recommend you do. From this prologue version, seems like a fun puzzle game, with some darkness in it. It's a platformer puzzle game with universe shifting, which might change the scenery depending on which universe you are. From what I see, the world can be shifted into a good and bad version. The good version contains live vegetation, nice day, friendly people and stuff for you to talk, while the bad version contains a uglier, scarier appearance, with a grim appearance of the npcs from the good version, be them either dead or not. One example of that is when you get to the town at the end of the demo. In the good version, you see a dog and two kids playing around in the town. In the bad version, if you didn't got the car keys for Everret yet, you will see that same dog, malnourished, eating one of the kids. That just one of the examples of how dark the game can be. The story itself is fun, and I had a good time following it. The characters are well animated, aswell as in some of their dialogues, so they really put the narrative to shine here.
