About White Hell
✦ AI summary
Wake up from hibernation in frozen post-apocalyptic Finland and blast your way through two warring extremist factions using everything from shotguns to eldritch swords while gathering magical SISU energy to supercharge your arsenal. This retro-style FPS stands out with its darkly absurd Finnish setting, dimensional rifts, and a pounding MIDI soundtrack from ULTRAKILL's composer.
Enter White Hell, a retro-style first-person shooter set in post-apocalyptic Finland. A lone survivor, Jarmo, wakes up on his toilet floor after hibernating through the apocalypse and has to fight his way through the frozen wastelands controlled by opposing extremist groups.
From the classic pump-action shotgun to a sword powered by eldritch energy, White Hell provides a familiar although unique arsenal of weapons.
After humble beginnings in an apartment building, your journey leads you through overtaken cities, secret research facilities, dangerous wilderness, and into another dimension.
The dystopian civilization of White Hell is firmly divided into two factions: the fascist Order of the Blue Eagle and the communist Red Tomorrow. Both parties are more than willing to exterminate outside threats, which include you.
Jarmo can gather magical SISU-energy by defeating his enemies. This energy can be used to activate SISU-mode, which transforms your weapons into super-powered versions with new features.
The game features an original MIDI soundtrack by ULTRAKILL creator/composer Arsi "Hakita" Patala complete with 90s-style soundfonts.

I will recommend this game. I mostly enjoyed my time playing it. Pros: - Cool levels - Cool weapons - Good enemy variety - Never really got lost Cons: - Enemy movement patterns are very sporadic and weird, making them hard to hit - Maybe could've added like 2 more weapons for how long this game is - Kind of starts to become a slog after level 141 found this helpful
This is a hidden gem, please finish it team! I bet CV11 would dig this this. Cheers!1 found this helpful
Greatest FPS. "Refusing to play this game, I can only feel sorry for you."
This is a game I should of started playing a while ago. i'm sure you've heard the same story of a random game that you don't know much about but look's like you might be into, so you buy it and it gets buried under a bunch of other things going on and you keep putting it off for a couple years until one night it catches your eye and you figure all right lets give it a whirl. then the first level shows potential and the 2nd and 3rd are that 'oh wow, i've been missing out' moment. i've only finished 7 levels at time of writing but so far i love the music, weapons, level design, humour, Finnish references, and overall gameplay.
