I stayed up . . . all . . . night. Finishing Who Murdered My Empress. It's just . . . It's not. There was a lot. The audacity. The unmitigated gall. Oh MY God. I'm actually tired - not because I've been up for 20 1/2 hours, it's because the emotions of absolute shock and betrayal have exhausted me. I cannot describe to you the whirlpool of emotions I've just gone through for the last hour nor what caused them. Oh my God that was a lot. I wanted to break my TV, yet all I could do was gesticulate in my chair - utterly speechless. How dare - how dare the developer, how dare this game, how dare who wrote this, how dare this fictional man, how dare the Empress, how dare GOD ??? That's it. That's the summary of my current emotions as eloquently as I can put them. I sent this exact monologue to me best friend right after I turned off my PC. It is now my steam review.

I finished the main story and his POV 😭! I don’t even know how to put this into words… I’ve played so many otome games, and no matter how good they are, there’s always something that feels… missing. Something that doesn’t fully come together in the end. But this game? Everything just blends so perfectly. The romance, the mystery, the overarching plot… it doesn’t just tell a story—it completes itself. Every part fills what the other could’ve lacked, and it makes the whole experience feel so… whole And the love development… The way it starts from strangers, to deep conversations, to slowly understanding each other, to love… then distance, pain, and finding each other again... I’ve never experienced something like this in an otome before🥺 This story really is a ride… just like they said 😭 And at times… it 🔪 in the best way possible. It feels so carefully written, so intentional, so complete. I’m honestly still in awe🥹 This game is truly a gem✨

I love this game!! I saw this developer is working on a new game, excited to see more from them because this game was the perfect mix of romance and mystery, I really liked the writing. (I hope Thang Tung extra content gets added, I am looking forward to coming back and replying this again) <3 <3 <3

This was such a delightful surprise! I really enjoyed the story and the artwork. I'm excited for future updates or DLC. It has become one of my favorite games. I also adored all the characters and appreciated the mature story, which is rare in this genre. Absolutely a game I recommend buying!

Big fan of historical K and C Dramas so it is no surprise that I enjoyed this visual novel! I was pleasantly surprised how well the story was written. Decisions are easy, but sometimes make you question what to choose. Although I predicted who the perpetrator was early on, there were a lot of points that made me second guess myself. TL;DR: If you like historic dramas, buy this!

I originally picked up this game because it checked a lot of boxes for me. It came across my FYP on TikTok before its release and I bought it shortly after. I was excited this game in the beginning but was then a little saddened to learn I could not really choose my love interest. I think the game cover art had me under the impression that I could and I had not seen the game website citing the male lead. I do not dislike Vu but it did dampen my enthusiasm to keep playing for a while. I was hoping to know more of Thanh Tung. Mai's development and Vu's story was satisfying for me. I've also finished the additional content available (Empress POV) and am waiting to see more of Thanh Tung. Sometimes I felt the game dragged on a bit on my play through but if I ever wanted to replay for the additional scenes there is a skip button. I will most likely play some of the additional content as it's released. I played this solely on the Steam Deck and it worked perfectly. ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
