Who Murdered My Empress?

I stayed up . . . all . . . night. Finishing Who Murdered My Empress. It's just . . . It's not. There was a lot. The audacity. The unmitigated gall. Oh MY God. I'm actually tired - not because I've been up for 20 1/2 hours, it's because the emotions of absolute shock and betrayal have exhausted me. I cannot describe to you the whirlpool of emotions I've just gone through for the last hour nor what caused them. Oh my God that was a lot. I wanted to break my TV, yet all I could do was gesticulate in my chair - utterly speechless. How dare - how dare the developer, how dare this game, how dare who wrote this, how dare this fictional man, how dare the Empress, how dare GOD ??? That's it. That's the summary of my current emotions as eloquently as I can put them. I sent this exact monologue to me best friend right after I turned off my PC. It is now my steam review.

I finished the main story and his POV 😭! I don’t even know how to put this into words… I’ve played so many otome games, and no matter how good they are, there’s always something that feels… missing. Something that doesn’t fully come together in the end. But this game? Everything just blends so perfectly. The romance, the mystery, the overarching plot… it doesn’t just tell a story—it completes itself. Every part fills what the other could’ve lacked, and it makes the whole experience feel so… whole And the love development… The way it starts from strangers, to deep conversations, to slowly understanding each other, to love… then distance, pain, and finding each other again... I’ve never experienced something like this in an otome before🥺 This story really is a ride… just like they said 😭 And at times… it 🔪 in the best way possible. It feels so carefully written, so intentional, so complete. I’m honestly still in awe🥹 This game is truly a gem✨

I love this game!! I saw this developer is working on a new game, excited to see more from them because this game was the perfect mix of romance and mystery, I really liked the writing. (I hope Thang Tung extra content gets added, I am looking forward to coming back and replying this again) <3 <3 <3

Played as part of Fall in Love 2026. This game is a classic example of who-dun-it type visual novel games. You meet your suspects, collect clues, and attempt to navigate dangerous and suspensful situations while uncovering evidence and eyewitness accounts. Except the crime you're investigating is the murder of you, in the future. I only got to scratch the surface during my playthrough in the festival, so Im looking forward to playing it again and discovering more of the clues I haven't seen.

Love is a feeling that’s hard to describe. You can’t explain it; you can only feel it. But what if you were unable to feel anything at all? The mystery immediately draws you in and keeps you on your toes throughout. What really worked for me was how every time I thought I understood something, the story would uncover another clue. Even when one question was answered, a new one would arise, constantly keeping me guessing. It honestly felt like I was watching a historical romance drama – the kind that you would get addicted to and watch the whole thing in one sitting. Even mid-way through the story, I was still no closer to the truth and whether everyone was actually who they seemed. I absolutely loved all the men in her harem, they all had their moments with Mai that just pulled at my heartstrings. This is in part credited to the amazing writing, which does a wonderful job of capturing even the smallest nuances, such as sly gazes and little touches that enhance the relationships in a way that makes you gasp and/or hold your breath (which I did a lot of). There’s so much more I could say but it would include revealing the whole story and the story is something I feel everyone sho…

This was such a delightful surprise! I really enjoyed the story and the artwork. I'm excited for future updates or DLC. It has become one of my favorite games. I also adored all the characters and appreciated the mature story, which is rare in this genre. Absolutely a game I recommend buying!
