WILL: A Wonderful World / WILL：美好世界

There is a warning on the store page but I think this game goes beyond content warning territory into problematic territory. There are multiple instances of children being assaulted, one with a lot of unnecessary detail. There is also a positively portrayed relationship between a 30 year old teacher and high school student. I know these are real issues that shouldn’t be hidden away, but this portrayal had really bad vibes. I was super excited because i’m a fan of any game where I can toy with people’s lives and this delivered and exceeded my expectations. The stories crossed over with a really cool mechanic where edits to two stories are done from one pool of potential changes, each change can only be used in one of the stories. I can’t recommend this because it gave me the ick but this dev should definitely make another game without any children at all this time.

Even an omniscient and omnipotent god cannot change certain endings. Those imperfect lives are, in themselves, part of a wonderful world.

The concept of WILL sounds great on paper: be a god, manipulate human lifes, choose a better fate for them. The actual game is a monotonous mess. The actual stories unravel like an edgy fanfiction. Full of shock content with a total lack of trigger warnings. In a world of WILL, characters are constantly raped, kidnapped, attacked, or killed. They loose concious for no reason, they feel dizzy, they are weak puppets in the hands of the game's writers. The game looks pretty, the music is fine, but the gameplay gets repetitive very quickly. There are more than 50 stories to play through, which is waaay too much. Not sure you should play this game, only if you like cringy, bottom of the AO3 barrel type of stories.

Solid 9/10 One of the best visual novels I have played. I found this gem by chance and boyyy was I surprised. The story-telling is super immersive and I loved the interactive aspect of ability to affect the story by re-arranging sentences as a puzzle. The glossary was surprisingly helpful and I ended up learning a lot of little bits of trivia, facts about all sorts of stuff. The game made me go through so many emotions and I was on the edge of my seat with some parts of story and rooting for many of these characters for a happy ending. I highly recommend to anyone that enjoys playing visual novels or just wanting to discover this genre.

Will possesses the ability to alter human destiny by changing the sequence of events within these letters, allowing players to influence outcomes ranging from hopeful recoveries to devastating tragedies. this is one of my favourite games ever made. the interwining storylines, the heartbreak, the love, it's a truly human story. i only wish i could forget the whole plot and experience it all over again from scratch.
