About Without A Doubt
First dates are awkward. Last dates are awful.
Without A Doubt is a short minimalist first-person narrative experience about a relationship. The beginning of it, and the end of it. The outcome is set from the first word spoken. Your choices do not matter. All you can do is keep the conversation moving from topic to topic.- Look for objects around the environment to start a conversation.
- Controlled entirely using the first-person camera.
- Playable in one 20 minute sitting.
- Fully voiced and subtitled.
- Cheaper than a real date.
That's it. Just sit back and enjoy. If you enjoy that sort of thing.

Ah man, this really, really hit. It's so interesting how the tensions unfolds through these parallel experiences- the nerves and awkwardness at the start of the first date, the slow unwinding as they open up, the excitement for something that might have potential. This energy moves into the second date as a frustration of a familiar but broken relationship. Very slowly, you feel the inevitable creeping up on you, getting tenser with each interaction, choking up more and more until there really is nothing left to say. And that tension is finally all released with Henry's beautiful ending track. Wowza! Thank you for making and sharing this Ben! <34 found this helpful
ULTIMATE AWKWARDNESS SIMULATOR Uncomfortable in the best way, smart in a low-key way, funny in a funny way. You need a date tonight? Recommended4 found this helpful
This is a really well-written quick “first date / last date” simulator that punches well above its playtime. In my 25-minute playthrough, I was genuinely impressed by how natural and emotionally resonant the story felt. The writing is sharp, believable, and surprisingly moving — I could really feel the characters’ emotions, tension, and vulnerability in such a short time. It perfectly captures that mix of excitement, awkwardness, and quiet intensity that comes with meaningful dates (and breakups). Highly recommended if you want a compact, high-quality narrative experience. Well done to the developers — this one stuck with me.4 found this helpful
CLEAN BREAK MENTIONED4 found this helpful
Without a doubt, this is quite an enjoyable short game (~30 mins. to beat)... Even though it hurts you by hitting your feelings with how realistic it. The game conveys really well the feeling of awkwardness of a first date or a date gone wrong. It gets very relatable with how the relationship between the characters evolves (or doesn't). It has a lot of details in the dialogue that really feel like a real couple having a conversation. It also helps that the voice acting is pretty good. Be aware that this is basically a 3D Visual Novel. There is no gameplay at all, you just listen to the characters speak, and advance to the next conversation topic by looking at a highlighted object. There are no choices or anything, it's a short linear story. But at least it is good, without a doubt. I also love the sneaky references to the dev's other 2 games: Clean Break (it's free, and I love it) and CONCRETE.2 found this helpful
Witty, sweet, sad, and humourous. A beautifully written little game that made me feel human. If you've ever been on a date you will see yourself in some part of this.2 found this helpful
