What on earth did I just watch? What a horrible FMV. What I assume is the settings menu doesn't work with Proton (7.0-4) but other than that it works fine. But I really wish it didn't.5 found this helpful
This shouldn't even be considered a game. Anyways, even as a movie it's horrible.2 found this helpful
Introduction
Wrath Of The Violent Vicar is an interactive horror movie featuring live action footage. It is based on a movie of the same name released in 2012.
Pros & Cons
Pros: + Good soundtrack + Great acting performances + Very disturbing and disgusting at times Cons: - Not much of a game - The story just isn't there - Feels like it's violence just for the sake of violence - Only 30 minutes long
Story
Not much of a story here, except what's written on the store page. The priest goes on a rampage, kills some people in a violent and gruesome way and that's it. Between the scenes Jesus appears to give some context for murder, but it doesn't feel like any of those murders were justified. It's just violence for the sake for violence. Maybe there's some philosophical message hidden behind this, but I'm not smart enough to decipher it.
Gameplay
Gameplay-wise it's not your typical interactive, you can't change the story. The only way you can influence it, is by selecting between two options: "normal kill" or "super kill" and "good jesus" or "bad jesus". First choice just shows you different murder scenes, with more or less vio…2 found this helpful
This game is bad. That makes it so good! It is so funny to watch this wreck. The "game" is more of a movie with optional scenes. It is around 25 min long for a first playthrough and you need to play it twice to see everything. Buy it, if you like unintentional funny B horror like I do (on sale ofc) PS. The music is awesome except when it gets too loud because the sound design is bad too ofcourse. Very limited choices. Feels kinda like a demo reel for a Troma Films project. Obviously a passion project among friends. It’s not a “good” game, but you may be entertained. Around 20 minutes of run time. Kudos to the developers to making this game, they put their hearts into it. But go in not expecting much. True IF, not too much of a game. Extremely bad acting, but that’s kinda the point here.
Pretty cool Grindhouse game!
