About XL1-ClippingPoint
XL1 – Clipping Point is an online racing game created by XLGAMES, the renowned MMORPG ArcheAge developer led by Jake Song.
After the CBT in 2006, XL1 was not officially launched, but the product was distributed with the title of “Clippling Point” as a single-player game.
Since the release of Clipping Point, there have been other great racing games to date, but the genre’s enthusiasts longed for a racing game with an in-depth elements in controls and car tuning options.
As such, despite not being launched officially, in an effort to preserve the very first game developed by XLGAMES, XL1 will be available for free on Steam.
The technical knowledge attained during the development of XL1 – Clipping Point was applied to the world of ArcheAge to realize physical functions to make the MMORPG more realistic.
Game Features
XL1 – High Performance Physical Engine
Realistic and elaborate racing is realized via XLGAMES-developed high performance physical engine, for instance, players can feel the weight of the car while its wheels run with close traction to the roads.
XL1 – Perfect Racing, Attention to Detail
Racing game enthusiasts praised XL1 for including realistic car features that were omitted in game such as “room mirrors” and “side-view mirrors”.
Great Racing Controls with Minimal Keystrokes
XL1 allows players to experience sound driving by making use of the arrow keys and 2 additional keys to switch gears. Also with the automatic transmission option, players need not have to use the switch-gear-keys once it is on. Simple while in-depth control elements immerse players to XL1 with abridged adaptation period.
Realistic Tuning Options
As in real life, when players increase the width of the in-game wheels, ground traction surges as well. XL1 allows the freedom of racing methodologies via various tuning options that are numerically adjustable.

Game is dead sadly. It was fun while it lasted.
Note: Dead multiplayer game This game contains no meaningful single player content. There are no available servers and no player population. This game cannot be played as intended.
XL1-ClippingPoint is a dead multiplayer racing game. Why did it fail? Almost every PvP exclusive game on Steam fails. Only a tiny proportion of them "go viral". This game failed for many of the same reasons those others fail. The chief of which is the developer thinking that their game will "go viral" without actually creating any reason for it do so. Competition amongst PvP centric games is extreme, and there's only a finite player base to appeal to. This game failed to reach any kind of critical mass and died as a result. Let's go into some of the reasons this particular game failed to appeal to gamers, despite the zero up front cost. First and foremost, there's no meaningful single player content. The developer gambled that other players would be an acceptable substitute for adding storytelling, level design etc to the game. They lost that bet. Without a huge community of players or single player content to add a lasting value to the game, the game dies. De…
very fun game. progression is unique but mostly comparable to something like gran turismo 2 and has some pretty fun features like engine swaps, an easy livery creator, and decent visual customization as well as a pretty impressive car list unfortunately the steam version does NOT seem to save progress properly, which prevents any progress. there is a post on the steam forum named "Game crashes? Not saving progress? Check this" that you should check out that gives you an offline version without the save problem so that you can actually progress although you won't have multiplayer. still crashes relatively often but every time it crashed for me it keeps my save where it was right before the race (it usually crashes during a race) so it isn't so bad using the english translation on the offline version is confusing since it doesn't let you change languages in the menu (at least for me) but all you have to do is delete the korean language file and then it displays in english hoping this game gets some more love in the future since the community seems to be mostly dead and i think it has some great potential
Actually, for being basically XLgames's unfinished homework... it's pretty damn close to a competent Forza competitor. The customization is pretty good, the handling feels great, all i really want is it just to be finished as a offline game. I know similar exist, bit this one is a great time, especially considering this came out (technically) before Project Tourque or The crew.
