About Yi and the Thousand Moons
Yi and the Thousand Moons is a short video game musical written and developed by David Su. Through the course of several original interactive songs, featuring a full cast and live band, the game weaves a story of the archer Yi's journey to save her village.Darkness is expanding, and the gods plan to combat it by harvesting moonlight. They want the legendary archer Yi to shoot the moons down, but the villagers have warned her that the moons are what protect the earth from stardust. Help Yi rescue her village from catastrophe!

Feels and sounds like a rough draft but the core idea is cool so props for that. Also it takes like no time to play. Also ALSO it has easy to get achievements if you're into that sort've thing.3 found this helpful

i don't think i understood anything, but i did have a blast listening to the soundtrack
I got this dirt cheap due to a coupon (those were cool, I miss them), but still cannot recommend this on good faith if you're looking for a game. The music is above par and if I was on a music rating site I'd give it good marks, but the game... is barely there. Not only have I played longer free walking sims (with more "mechanics"), but this really "tricks you" into thinking there'll be more substance than there is due to how it's structured. Avoiding any concrete spoilers, it's almost funny how there's an "interlude" when the final two songs have you similarly doing basically nothing to progress and last almost the same "length" (the instrumentals loop between sung sections). I don't want to presume anything, but it does feel like any attempt at making a proper musical game and not just an album with an interactive visualizer fell through after the first three songs.
A short and sweet experience. The soundtrack as a musical is a very cool idea which i would love to see in a more ambitious project.
