About This Game
Zone-0 was created in just one week as a showcase of our free, publicly available Unreal Engine framework. This short horror experience was built to demonstrate how quickly and effectively developers can build immersive worlds with it — and we challenged ourselves to push its capabilities to the limit.Story
It was supposed to be a quiet goodbye. You’re just a low-clearance guard posted at the front gate of a sprawling facility no one talks about. For years, you watched people come and go—never knowing what went on behind the reinforced walls. Now the project is being shut down. Decommissioned. Stripped for parts and packed away like it never existed. But on your final shift, something goes wrong. The ground shakes. Pipes burst. Sirens wail in. Whatever was buried in the dark isn’t staying quiet. You were never meant to see what’s inside. But now, there’s no turning back.Features

Its OK if you haven't ever played a walking simulator. It did have my attention for around 10 minutes but progression is just convoluted, not so badly that it hurts, just so much that I felt no drive to continue after 4th or 5th locked door. Alt-F4 and now I'm here.4 found this helpful
Short, but really good!1 found this helpful
I really need to stop taking jobs at secretive classified organizations. It seems like they never have employee welfare high on their list of priorities.1 found this helpful
"Zone-0" is not really a game, it's a short first person adventure tech demo kitbashed out in Unreal to demonstrate the developers business, which is an Unreal Engine framework intended to speed up the rate at which amateur shovelware is created and pumped onto Steam Direct. I don't think that's particularly good news for gamers. Needless to say, because this is more advertisement than game, and indeed the developer has the audacity to boast they shoved this out in the space of a week (professional game development takes years and it's a disservice to gamers when developers deliberately don't do the job properly), we have a real problem with a product that's not intended for gamers and doesn't deliver value for gamers. Whew. What do you do in the game? Mostly walking around (possibly asset flipped) Unreal environments, some very lightweight and badly done puzzle solving. Actually I highly doubt the game assets were created bespoke for this game in the space of a week... meaning the developer has presumably yanked them from some other real game developer and just slapped their own name on someone else's assets. That's morally upstanding... not. One might even say taking the …
WoW, Cant believe this is free, great atmosphere and cinematic feel, perfect to chill with a controller and figure out whatsup.
A solid if mildly incoherent experience. I didn't have any tech issues and while puzzling at times I managed to figure out what the game expected of me in the end. I don't really know what that last scene was but overall I had fun and was even startled a few times. I recommend this for a nice haunting jaunt during spooky season.
