Story
In the beginning, there were many gods. Until war came to heaven. One by one, the gods fell. Each Godfall brought with it a fierce meteor shower, as well as the sudden deaths of their worshippers. As the gods continued to fall and entire kingdoms were brought to ruin by the sympathetic deaths of the devout, many renounced their faith in the hope of being spared. Without divine protection, large numbers succumbed to possession and corruption as the demonic powers forced their entry into the world. Now, there is but one god. Her clerics exert dominance over the human remnants, ruling with an iron fist. Nomadic greenskin tribes pillage and burn their way across the land. Ambitious necromancers harvest the bones of fallen civilizations to amass undead armies of incredible size. The human heretics of the Cult of the Outward Path seek to break free from this world, risking it in the process. The dwarves of the Earthern Nations burrow ever deeper, trying to escape the madness of the surface world. Horrors wait there in the depths, ready to boil out and claim the old places. And all the while, sinister forces yet unseen lurk in the shadows and lay their plans. The fate of humanity hangs by a thread. Time to get to work.
Fifty years after the last Godfall, the winnowing of humanity has passed. The survivors and their descendants struggle to survive and rebuild in a world whose balance has dramatically shifted against them.

What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Monsters' Den: Godfall delivers an engaging party-based tactical dungeon crawler with satisfying loot mechanics and solid value for the playtime offered, though players warn that dungeon runs become tedious and repetitive with dated presentation and occasional technical issues like crashes. The core loop of managing mercenaries and optimizing builds appeals to tactical RPG fans, but the lengthy campaigns, procedurally generated quests, and balance issues involving heavy enemy defenses and RNG can wear thin over time. Most reviewers suggest picking it up on a discount rather than at full price.
Monsters' Den: Godfall offers a comforting loop of party-based tactical combat, dungeon clearing, and loot hoarding. Managing your band of mercenaries and optimizing their gear builds scratches that classic turn-based RPG itch nicely. On the flip side, the actual dungeon runs drag on far too long, and repetitive enemy encounters can turn clearing a map into a chore. The presentation is undeniably dated, and the world-building does not do much to keep you invested in the overarching plot. It is a decent, unpretentious tactical fix for strategy fans, provided you catch it on a discount.6 found this helpful
Quality dungeon crawler, great value for money.1 found this helpful
Great Game... As a person that prefers RPG's - This game hits the spot. While I would not consider this a Full Fledged RPG - it mixes both Tactical and RPG together in a good way. :) However, I have experienced random crashes after long play times. Seems like this problem is not just related to me... but others as well.1 found this helpful
Enjoyable and nostalgic party management dungeon crawler.
A decent dungeon crawler but gets really tedious over time - I couldn't finish it, but it's not bad for price to gameplay time ratios. You could easily have half the battles and still have an extremely long campaign. However, you get you use custom PNGs for your characters which is really cute and adorable.
Score: 3/5 A poorly executed dungeon crawler in an interesting setting. Big world. A lot of quests and characters and items. But it's mostly repetitive content, probably procedurally generated quests and temporary locations. Writing is alright. Couldn't carry. Audio/SFX/music is okay. Art style/direction is okay. JRPG style. Grind for better scaling gear, hope you get good RNG and the rare/epic/legendary drops fit one of your unit's builds. I think it's infinite scaling on some things, but the talent trees limit your effectiveness. Particularly enemy HP. 50%+ enemies had strong defenses against either physical or magical damage, something like a 50-75% reduction. Thankfully enemy damage didn't scale very quickly. Balance issues and RNG often trumping skill. Some stats don't do enough. Some builds are significantly better than others. Enemies can have 6 units, you get 4 with up to 2 temporary with summons or a quest-related NPC. If you get a bad turn where too many enemies target the same unit, you're going to death spiral. There are way too many locked chests requiring much more limited resources to unlock, and only some of them have a moderate-or-more amount of loot.
