Red Masked Ronin: Desires and Shadows

The storyline is decent, but the AI voice acting sounds really dull—it doesn’t have the emotion or presence of real actors. The visuals also look like they’re from a 2010-era video game.

I think this early access game has great potential. I love the amount of customization the game gives the player. You have many options in the character customization screen and you are able to change the furniture in the house you get later in the game. However, you aren't able to change the position of the furniture or how your house looks on the outside. Elements like fishing, woodcutting, and gathering are introduced that are fitting for the plot of the game and doesn't feel forced. And the s-scenes are just as customizable as the other parts of this game. I also find the first-person mode during the s-scenes to be really interesting. However, I did also find problems during my current playthrough of the game. What I find to be the biggest issue in the game currently is the combat system. The combat system seems rushed or not that well built in the game. At the start of the game, you are taught to light attack, heavy attack, and block. Light attack and block are useful moves and are the most used when I'm in combat. But I barely use my heavy attack because there is no point in using it. When I try to get close to use the move, the opponent quickly moves just outside my range.…

6/10 Finally some devs with some damn ambition :D Love to see it. There is gonna be alot of work needed in the years ahead but this might be really cool. But beware bugs are everywhere. Optimised? I don't think so. For me atleast the char creator is still a bit to bare bones, sure you got some basic body sliders for the player and ladies, some hairstyles and whatnot. But no detail management, in the end it really feels you create the same lady over and over again with some size modifiers. As for gameplay you might get confused about some tasks, where to get stuff but just check the map for example where to cut trees. Vendors need be clearly put on the map sinse the areas of the trading hud is not distinct enough to quickly get a feel for where you need to go. Fast travel is wack. I used to fast travel to bandit den first in order to fast travel to the village. Stuff like this. But i recommend it because of what the devs got going on and they are active wich i love ^^

Didn't have high expectations after reading the other reviews. But it's a really good game, a bit buggy but that's expected for an early release. But the game play loop is fun!
