[後半に日本語レビューあり]
Souls-like Action Set in a Mythic Medieval Japan
A 3D Souls-like action game set in a mythological vision of medieval Japan. Progression centers on exploration and combat: combo chains and dodges matter in regular encounters, while boss fights demand an understanding of timing and positioning, fitting squarely into the so-called “Dark Souls” style. The visuals are stylized in a PS3-era manner (this developer shows a strong tendency toward retro aesthetics), prioritizing atmosphere over realism. Shrines, yokai, and forgotten gods are scattered throughout the backgrounds, creating a decayed and quiet mood. Exploration itself contributes to understanding the world. That said, graphical optimization still feels somewhat lacking, and this is an area where future updates are worth watching. The H elements are largely optional and player-driven. They are unlocked after defeating powerful enemies or through choices made with NPCs, and are generally built on a premise of “consent.” Positioned as rewards for combat progress, they are not meant to be pursued as the sole objective. Kurotsuki, developed and published by Era t’my, is a compact action game that draws clear inspiration from Souls-like design while framing its experience within a dark, stylized interpretation of Japanese myth and folklore. It presents itself as a challenging, combat-focused journey where precision and patience are essential, placing players in a series of encounters against hostile spirits and formidable bosses. Rather than building a large, interconnected world, the game opts for a more contained structure, focusing on delivering a sequence of battles that emphasize timing, awareness, and careful execution. The core gameplay revolves around deliberate, methodical combat. Attacks carry weight, dodging requires proper timing, and enemy patterns must be studied to succeed. The game encourages a cautious approach, punishing reckless aggression and rewarding players who take the time to learn how each encounter unfolds. This creates moments of tension that align well with the genre it draws from, particularly during boss fights where the stakes feel higher and the margin for error becomes smaller. When the mechanics come together, there is a sense of satisfaction in overcoming diffic…1 found this helpful

dont get me wrong the art and ecchi stuff is great, but the game is unplayable in many ways i somehow manged to get to the final boss, but you cant dodge you cant avoid anything, i can overlook a lot of bad stuff, but honestly the game is busted on a fundimendal level, also theres no gallery? avoid this, it isnt worth the coin, ill come back at a later date and change my review if they fix how clanky and busted it is.
The gameplay feels as clunky as first gen 3D action hack n slash games from 20+ years ago. It feels like just an after thought to the H-Scenes. The H-Scenes are alright, they are animated 2D scenes. I guess if you get it cheap, it is your money, but I don't think it is worth your time.
