Jump King

Jump king is arguably the pinnacle of the "Foddian" sub-genre of game, both in design and difficulty Whereas other games of its kind are "unfair" in the way of poor and/or unintuitive controls, oblique game design or intentionally hidden mechanics, jump king stands out as a uniquely cruel rage game. It's a game stripped of all the listed above unfair elements, and in their place stands something far worse. Precision. As is typical of the genre, controls are quite simple at a cursory glance, the only movement you're capable of is walking and jumping. Your jump however is much more intricate than it may seem at first, allow me to explain: The game runs at a standard 60 fps. You can charge your jump to a maximum of 35 frames before it releases automatically. Every single one of those frames is a different variation of a jump and you have absolutely zero visual indicators of how far or high you can jump. What this means effectively is that going into the game blind you will have absolutely no framework on which to intuitively understand the games controls while some jumps only grant you a 1-3 frame window of failure and thats exactly where its difficulty lies. I started playing Jump King because I heard it was a really hard game. At first I thought it would not be that bad, but I was very wrong. 😂 The game is actually pretty simple. You just have to jump higher and higher. But the jumps are really hard to control, and if you make one mistake, you can fall down really far. I am still a beginner, so I fail a lot. Sometimes I finally get past a hard part and then immediately fall down again. It is really frustrating, but somehow I always want to try again. The graphics are pretty simple, but I think they fit the game. The music can get a little annoying after a while, but it is still pretty good. I would recommend Jump King if you like difficult games and don't give up easily. 8/10 ⭐ Very frustrating, but also really fun when you finally make progress.

Great rage game, probably the best I've ever seen. I love platformers and this was a nice skill check, currently going through New Babe+ and kinda crashing out over the icy floors, but it's still really fun nonetheless. Would highly recommend if you have the patience and level-headedness for something of this caliber.

it gets so stale. i beat it just to get it out of the way and i have an undying urge to beat a challenge game once i start it. i got mad once out of 10 hours and it was only because i was in a bad mood already. not really a rage game. 3 buttons you will ever use and annoying timing requiring mainly luck to get through your first playthrough, so itll take at least 9 hours if youre good.

My chair is full of sweat, I pissed myself several times and got PTSD and 2/3 babes, need to get the last one so I have one for each braincell I have left after the hours of play. Strongly recommend the game 10/10!
