✦ AI summary

ELDERBORN is a short, old-school-feeling dungeon crawler with solid melee combat that players describe as endearing and fun, though it's better suited for budget purchases rather than full price given its brief 3-5 hour campaign. Most reviewers acknowledge the game's brevity as a significant limitation and note that developer claims about playtime are inflated, though the core gameplay mechanics and nostalgic charm keep it entertaining throughout. Players suggest picking it up on sale rather than at full asking price.

TL:DR: It's a mid - okay game, but don't buy at it $15. Also want to call out the devs for saying 8-9 hours of casual content in here. Even in my first play through I beat in 3 hours. 5.5 / 10 — FULL REVIEW: — I bought it on sale at $3 and I was still feeling iffy about refunding. I have 100%'d all achievements in the game in about 14 hours. There is not much content, only 3 chapters that can be beaten in as quick as 1 hour if you know where to go. It did keep me entertained, and I did somewhat enjoy the challenge of beating it as a level 1, no death run. It has an endearing quality of being like those old-school freeware 3D games you'd find Newgrounds or Armor Games. I've had this on my wishlist for a while, as the mix of Elder Scrolls dungeon crawling combined with advanced Dark Souls like mechanics seemed promising, but I finished feeling dissatisfied. On one hand I thought the combat was fun. Especially once you start to use the parry/kick system it's feels great to slay hordes of enemies. Chapter 1 has a nice dungeon design. However, I think the graphics are monotone and lacking, the physics are janky, and the level design of Chapter 2 and 3 felt rushed. Some of the …

Awesome game! Great fun for a few bucks. I completely missed this gem when it was released and just discovered by sheer coincidence. Buy it - I want a sequel(or prequel, who cares).

Great game that last just enough to be fun all the way through. Enjoyed it whole and can recommend you. Good silly fun slasher with familiar mechanics and in the new shape.

Pretty good game, very short but all in all good. The combat is pretty good, fast enough to not lose focus in a battle but not so fast its unfair. This scratched that old school FPS itch I had for a very long time, even though there are no player guns. You are the entire PROBLEM. I like it and recommend this game. Big ups for Hyperstrange being consistently one of my favorite publishers.
