About Indiana Jones® and the Emperor's Tomb™
Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb sends you across 1935 China and beyond as the legendary archaeologist battling Nazis and the underworld to secure a mystical artifact. Combining whip-cracking adventure with brawling combat, improvised weapons, and cinematic set pieces like rickshaw chases and gondola battles, it delivers a globe-trotting action experience that feels straight out of an Indiana Jones film.
As Indiana Jones, you’ll travel to 1935 China to prevent a powerful artifact from falling into evil hands. This globe-spanning adventure pits you against evil Nazis and the Asian underworld. It’ll take more than just a trusty whip and pistol to avoid the perils of the Emperor’s Tomb.

Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb is praised by fans as a solid Indiana Jones adventure with engaging platforming and combat, but is hampered by janky controls, frequent crashes when alt-tabbing, lack of checkpoints within levels, and no manual save system that forces long replays on death. Players appreciate the game's atmosphere and story enough to recommend it to franchise fans, though they acknowledge it feels dated and frustrating by modern standards.
I held onto my patience through the final chapter, but I get frustrated. The controls feel janky and delayed. Combine that with platforming sections that requires precision. The game randomly crashes whenever I Alt+Tab just to know where should I headed next, because the game didn't give any markers or precise objective. On top of that, there are no checkpoints. Die from an enemy, a trap, or accidental slip, you start from the beginning of the level.5 found this helpful
a great Indiana Jones game, even if it is a bit dated. wishing this game would get a modern re-release kinda like SW battlefront classic (but good)1 found this helpful
graphics are better than infernal machine, but on pc, the controls are just as janky and the save system sucks real bad. plus it keep crashing 5 minutes in, i've had to replay the same intro several times.1 found this helpful
Best Indiana Jones game
‘A mighty story of undying heroism to thrill the world!’ Indiana Jones® and the Emperor's Tomb™ is a platformer and a brawler about adventuring throughout Eurasia — especially China — to stop the Fascists and their accomplices from obtaining artefacts that hold the key to ultimate power. While platformer aficionados are unlikely to be impressed by its offerings, for the most part is succeeds at what it does, and Indiana Jones fans in particular shall find it quite serviceable indeed. Roughly half of the adventure consists of platforming: leaping across platforms, whipping across platforms, climbing, grabbing ledges, sneaking across ledges, and so on. If you are familiar with the Tomb Raider or Prince of Persia series, you’ll have a good idea of what to expect here. The controls aren’t awful… but they aren’t great either: while most of the time they do what you want them to do, there are more than a few instances where they’ll let you down, usually resulting in a cheap death. This game can be somewhat strict about climbing down ladders, creeping along walls, whipping architecture, and occasionally something as simple as gently dropping off of a platform…
In short - it is better than Great Circle. It also has EXTREMELY JANKY 3D controls and questionable level design to go along with it. I have to recommend it because the recent Indy productions make this confusing mess look like a masterpiece. Enjoyable? IT IS NOT. Some sequences such as the digger machine escape and the final machine (and the octopus fight) were not play-tested enough considering that they have issues that could have corrected and as-is are greatly unenjoyable experiences (read: torture). For example, the heart target needed to finish off the last boss sometimes does not appear. I beat the game. It is a nightmare to catch footage of because it dies when you alt-tab. The controls are extremely janky. There is no manual saving and some of the stages are really long and full of instant death pits. Do not pick this up for Casual Fun (tm). I did do so last year and have been begrudgingly slogged through the game ever since. It is about 20 hours long without going for all artifacts (use the guide or you will miss them). The content is really dry and lacks attractive goals. My least favorite part is getting detected by Not-Sees and having a nigh-invincible Flammewerfe…
