I love this game, it's the best updated version of Lara before the Survivor Trilogy

Tomb Raider Underworld might be by far the strongest title in this era of the reboot. The climbing and platforming sees a massive overhaul and Lara has new degrees of freedom. Most noticeable is the expansion in grapple hook mechanics, as well as freedom to climb on top of parallel bars. The motorcycle gets a MUCH NEEDED overhaul and it is perfect! It is now used as a tool to allow levels to sprawl to never before seen sizes and temples to cover much more area. Out of the 3 games in the LAU trilogy, this one has the most polished climbing and everything is oh so smooth. This game definitely holds up to modern standards and it was a pleasure from beginning to end. The game is FUN! The design of levels makes sure that you never get stuck and it's easy to orient yourself and figure out what you need to do. The puzzles are difficult, but never once did I feel frustrated or bored with the pacing. Of note is that modern systems will likely break the physics and cause objects to shoot across the level. You will need to lock the game at 60 fps unfortunately. Once I turned on Vsync every physics bug was fixed. Performance issues likely come from the volumetric effects. They are poorly…

give us the beneath the ashes and lara's shadow DLCs NOW !!! Tomb Raider: Underworld is a game with so much potential. I really enjoyed the graphics, characters and the voice acting. There's new exploration mechanics and abilities (like the chimney jump) which make the gameplay feel more diverse in its "tomb raiding". Thailand looks stunning and is probably one of the best levels in the game. Maybe if Underworld had gotten the proper time to stay in development to truly reach its peak I could even call it my favorite, but eh... If I could put the rating as neutral, I would. I liked being able to choose between different variations of the same outfits before doing a level. Like long pants or shorts? Different types of diving suits? More of that please. The controls are a bit janky, the camera angle often works AGAINST the player, and unless you cap your FPS to 60 the physics go haywire. The relic hunting that makes exploring so much more fun is... awful. There's so many treasures, many of which are just two steps away from each other. You could turn a corner and boom, there's a whole line of them. They don't even unlock anything except concept art so you're collecting 179 treasur…
