About Cubicolor

Cubicolor is a minimalist puzzle game with soothing piano music.

The rules are simple: Match the color patches on the board and reach the exit, all on one single path. Every tile can only be touched once before it falls into nothingness. The game features 50 different levels and gets harder as you progress, always accompanying you with relaxing piano tunes.

✦ AI summary

Cubicolor is a relaxing abstract puzzle game where players navigate colored tiles to find the correct path to exits, accompanied by soothing piano music. Players consistently praise the charming concept and solid execution, though most feel the game is held back by limited level count, shallow difficulty progression, and lacking some quality-of-life features like restart shortcuts and smoother animations. The game is generally regarded as a pleasant but brief experience best suited for casual play rather than a substantial puzzle challenge.

Hola, ¿qué tal? This review of mine is going to be very different and the decision to do it this way is based on the fact that I want to give a hidden hint of what I missed about the game but without saying it. Achtung! The following has already been described more than extensively here, but I'll say it again for anyone who hasn't noticed, or simply enjoy reading reviews all day. Tehát: The way to the respective exits leads you over colorful quadtrates, the correct route of which must be found with or without a brain, while shallow piano notes ring out. Quoi d'autre ?: You check the game board and plan a route or just go for it. DAN: If you make a mistake, you simply reset and try another path. That's it / Ende / no más / ...

A relaxing short abstract puzzler. Too easy, lazy level design, but nice concept and competent execution.

What a great little set of puzzles. I absolutely love these line-pathing games. This one hits all the right notes, and just needs a few QOL improvements (back button, pressing 'R' to restart, faster fluid animation) to really shine. A fun prototype that I wish had a more full-fledged sequel.

Good concept for a puzzle game, albeit lacking enough levels to ramp up its complexity or difficulty substantially. Beyond more levels or a level editor, the game would also benefit from an in-game option to toggle movement with the directional buttons, rather than requiring an input for each tile moved across. Works on the Steam Deck.

I don't know, if this is supposed to be hard, but it's a nice little game and still enjoyable. 8/10
