About GRAIN ROT
GRAIN ROT is a co-op extraction horror game where you pilot fragile wooden vessels as Living Sparks descending into shifting underground ruins, smashing furniture for resources and surviving increasingly corrupted horrors while your teammates can sabotage or save you at any moment. Death just means you continue as a possessionless Spark trying to find a new host before fading, and everything you extract rebuilds your Outpost for deeper, deadlier runs.
A horror co-op extraction builder set in a scorched wasteland where everything burns. Descend with your friends into shifting ruins, rip out furniture, and scavenge for loot before the Corrupted close in. Make it back alive, then rebuild the Outpost to better your chances for the next run.

GRAIN ROT is a game with an incomplete story and unfinished features that players feel should have been labeled as early access rather than a full release, which has created frustration around its development state. While some players appreciate the base-building mechanics and decoration system between runs, others find the difficulty curve punishing and the equipment requirements excessive, leading to frequent deaths that overshadow the potentially enjoyable core concepts.
Why is the game not finished? It had so much potential but not even the story is finished. It felt like the devs just gave up at some point and released what they had.1 found this helpful

call it early access if that is what it is. I expected a full game and now have to wait for bs updates. If it said early access I wouldnt care, dont say it is a full game on steam if it isn't.
good game. Not as repetitive as some other horror, gather games. I really enjoy the 'base building' to raise states in between runs.
I wanted to like the game but no, the game is just TOO hard if you dont have the right equipment. You are CONSTANTLY dying and for no reason. You have to have a TON of weapons or you dont collect much. I dont recommend. If I could return, I would do so in a heartbeat. The reason why I kept playing was because I loved the decoration concept but nah... over this game.
