Mushroom Nook

7/10: I usually love idle games where you don’t have to do much active play, or at least the active parts are fun enough to keep me glued to my screen. Mushroom Nook definitely leans toward the "leave it running and let it do its thing" side which I normally enjoy. The problem is… it’s not user friendly. I was a bit lost at first. The game doesn’t explain much, and even something simple like buying a mushroom wasn’t straightforward. It took me awhile to figure out what the game actually wanted me to do. Still, it is a pretty game! The mushrooms look adorable, each with their own little quirks, and the overall vibe is cozy. <3 It just needs clearer instructions or a smoother onboarding. With a bit more guidance, it could easily be an awesome idle game instead of a “wait, what does this option do?” experience.

There's not much to this app, just mushrooms and furniture placing, and I love it for that. It gives me something cute to occasionally look at while I work.

MUSHROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMSSSSSSS so many fun real life ones and fantasy ones! Love the lil animated ones or glowing ones! The funkier the better! Clean pixel art and amazing base for decor but I would LOVE an option to click/select that allows entirely freeform placement of the mushrooms anywhere on my screen tho, imagine having some hanging out looking like theyre growing out of desktop icons too! Or being able to swap the one attached to my mouse! Or being able to have the option to place furniture anywhere too! Just using an edit or priority button in menu to turn on priority to click the mushrooms or objects on my screen if I need to move them vs priority to click on the desktop icon they might be on top of etc. Also wish the legendary ones had more variation, entirely different ones not just feeling like a recolor or slightly different stuck to a specific theme, but there IS plenty of variation on every other tier that's way more interesting thankfully!
