🎮 Last Heroes Review ⭐⭐☆☆☆ (2/5) The Good: 💰 Fair price when on sale, around €1. Worth it at that cost. 🎮 Playable RPG mechanics that pass time. The Bad: 🤨 Strange Character Choices. One party member is a con artist who ended up jailed for breaking in. I really don't like that they let him come along. Con artists are never to be trusted. 🙅‍♂️ 🗡️ Inconsistent Class Design. Vanessa is a knight who uses anything but swords in battle. If you're going to give a character an axe, make it a Viking instead. Feels like lazy design choices. 🪓 😐 Mediocre Story. Nothing really special. Just okay. ❓ Questionable Storytelling. Some odd decisions throughout that don't make sense narratively. Verdict: The €1 price tag saves this game from being a complete waste. But the odd character decisions, inconsistent class design, and forgettable story drag it down significantly. Recommendation: Only grab it on sale for around €1. At full price? Definitely skip it. 👎

If you like these little RPGMaker-ish games, you could pick it up on sale for a dollar. Nothing special though.

Simple WASD adventure game. Very basic combat and ok story. Not something I'd actively look at playing myself but that's just personal preference. 6.5/10

I rather like Warfare Studios's RPG offerings Shining Plume 1 and 2 and Valiant: Resurrection; though they are RPGMaker games riddled with balance issues, they have deep and memorable stories and distinct character borne of obvious enthusiasm on the part of the developer. Perplexingly, Last Heroes is the reverse of that. Almost everything about the game is not just generic, but so perfunctory that it feels like the developer hated RPGs and was pressured into making one. It's not just that the assets are all from the RPGMaker library. The town and dungeon designs are so bare bones that it's like the developer is saying to you, "Okay, there are your towns and your dungeons. Happy?" Your party members get character development, but just the minimum needed to make them actual characters rather than just names and stats and a profile picture from the RPGMaker library, and the NPCs get no development at all. The plot is a linear "chase the MacGuffin, beat the evil lord". The one real curve in the formula is the way the player characters are each introduced with their own individual adventure.
