AEW: Fight Forever

I bought the game on sale. My kid and I have been having fun playing the game. They need to add more match types and customization for the wrestlers/rings. They also need to not give up on the game and keep adding content every year. If they do that the game could be great.

Ultimately, I do not recommend this game at full price. I purchased it at 75% off and even at that point I'm on the fence with this purchase. Full disclosure, those N64 WCW/WWF games were a ton of fun and its checking all the nostalgic bits and I prefer those games to current day WWE EA games. Gameplay is the same, but move sets are limited, and they've included a couple of new mechanics (ladder matches, barbed wire matches). But there's a lot of other issues that are hard to ignore. As I said I bought it at a discount, additionally, I knew there were issues with the overall game. Despite there being online 'seasons', online mode is an absolute ghost town. There's a known issue with the sound cutting out/muting during gameplay, that still hasn't been fixed. Sometimes it happens during the first match you play, sometimes it happens after hours of gameplay. Enemy AI can get frustrating, but isn't that what those 90s games were about? The Create A Wrestler mode is an absolute joke. You had so many options to choose from, from a fifth generation system, but this CAW mode has very little to choose from. Everybody's b*tching this game but I lowkey found the potential. So I bought every item in this game. Not the best but 6/10 for me.

This game misses the mark in some aspects, like the creation suite and the match types, but for a first aew game, its not at all bad. It does what it sets out to do good; be a fun arcade wrestling game with aew talent. As someone who got all of the achievements, I would recommend this if you are looking for something arcade-y, although personally I'd say buy wrestling empire instead. But, this game suffices extremely well. I would certainly wait till it is on sale though, as it goes for around 10 dollars, way more worth it than the 40 in my opinion.
