“Flashes of golden lightning stretch their jagged hands across the heavens. The smell of ozone charges the air”. I could not recommend with stronger language that you play CITADEL and that you play it now. The less information you have on what awaits you the better off you’ll be. In fact, don’t even read this review. Or any of the reviews, for that matter. Scroll up this instant, press the shiny green “Add to Cart” button, and fetch the silver American Express credit card from the wallet of your mom’s new boyfriend. I went in completely blind to this game, and I found it pretty interesting. Its certainly worth experiencing, with good writing and pacing for the ominous atmosphere.

Fun lil existential visual novel-type game Great pixel art visuals with a limited color palette, some felt like modern renditions of old paintings to me The audio/music helped with the atmosphere, which didn't feel as flat as I initially thought it would Worldbuilding was interesting and some of the choices did make me sit for a moment to think through Sadly the game is quite short and some of the mystique is lost on replays 8/10 would citadel again
