Doorways: Prelude

Ok, honestly, I like this game. Believe it or not, this was my first connection with horror games in 2014. It's not the best, especially with the brightness part, oh my that was a real pain in the aff. If we somehow manage to put this aside, the game is nice, I like this kind of horror games. Very nostalgic.

Boring and not worth playing when there are so many other MUCH better indie horror games.

Nothing wrong with this game. Pretty good actually with the ol' nostalgic Unreal 3 feeling. Except the brightness. Turn it all the way up, both in the main menu and in-game.

i dont know if this is supposed to be scary or what but it kind of just feels like an interesting world to walk around in above all else

Not a bad little game when taking into account the small dev and the fact is quite old at this point. This is chapter 1 and 2 out of 4. I seen a lot of the reviews were critical of the game being too dark and quite clunky. Both valid points. The darkness is a bit excessive but I was able to find my way around with relative ease. Chapter 1 is the worst offender for this. Chapter 2 was certainly creepier and the better of the 2. The story begins to take shape a little here. Puzzles are simple and the voice acting is decent as is the writing. The story seems a bit strange overall so I'm not 100% on board with buying chapters 3 and 4. Will certainly wait for them to go on sale. The movement in the game is quite floaty which is another issue i had. Overall I'd give this maximum 6/10 when taking into consideration how old the title is.
