The Dev is an AI Scam Artist lying through their teeth about how much AI is used in their game AND how much of an "enthusiast" of AI they are. The dev is putting in concerted INTENTIONAL EFFORT to HIDE THEIR LIES. The Dev made a forum post to discuss AI usage, then when commenters called the dev out on their lies, the dev DELETED the whole discussion, and has now been CONSISTENTLY DELETING ANY DISCUSSIONS related to AI within hours of posting. (I have tested this and you can too!) As of writing, the dev has claimed: "I want to clarify right away that I am not an AI enthusiast, though I understand that this topic can be sensitive for some. Type Or Die uses AI for card icons and sprite animations. All other aspects of the game (design, programming, voice acting, music, interface, and the majority of the artwork) were created manually. If the game achieves a certain level of success after its release, I will hire a specialist artist to handle all of that." That's actually updated from claiming "just the icon art is AI", and that they WILL "hire an artist before the game's release to replace the icon art". This time around we have a word game with roguelike elements and a quirky medieval manuscript artstyle that lured me in, only to lead me into an AI-riddled rabbithole with a developer who apparently wants to debate the use of AI, until they don't. I came here to write a review after experiencing a couple weird inconsistencies, and after reading other reviews I fear my comments are very much in line with much of the discourse about this game being AI-generated. First, let me say that I don't really follow game development very closely usually, so when this game popped up in my suggested games I just added it to my wishlist and bought it because it was a typing game and it had a medieval art style. However, as soon as I started playing the game I was confused by the lack of information about *how* the game was supposed to work. The way the cards you receive work is never explained, and instead you just have to learn intuitively how long each card might last, what it does, and whether or not it offers a permanent buff or a temporary change. While strange, I figured that since the game was kind of like a roguelike (if you squint) that maybe that was intentional, but it really doesn't make any sense. On a recent round of the Hard mode, I was offered a curse by the witch that said it would reduce my attack *by* 1. Instead, it reduced my attack *to* 1, which basically killed my run then and there. It's okay when it works but more often than not, at least on hard mode, it glitches out and you can't do anything except listen to the galloping noise of the guy moving on the map.

I tried to say something nice about it in an earlier review, but at second thought, I cannot support it. - It feels unfinished, too many bugs when picking cards, stats get pooped mid game. I have enough patience to work with a few errors, but my hp, defense and gold were MIXED AND MATCHED as the game progressed further. - Why make cards, if cards do not work? - Why fuse 2 stronger cards, to create one WEAKER card? - I don’t have a background in coding/programming, so I cannot say much about back-end stuff. I'm still upset, as it seems that none of the artworks were created by skilled workers, but with the use of AI. Which is simply tone deaf. - I was really looking forward to play it, since it was a present. Now it’s probably best to get a refund.
