About Cryptmaster
Cryptmaster is a word-based dungeon crawler where you guide four resurrected heroes through bizarre realms, solving puzzles and defeating enemies by finding and speaking the right words. Every challenge—from rap battles to fishing trips—hinges on your vocabulary and wordplay, making this a game where language is your greatest weapon.
In the ancient past, four brave heroes banded together to destroy a terrible evil, giving their lives to save countless others. But now their eternal rest has been disturbed by the Cryptmaster, a capricious necromancer in whose thrall they must ascend through the buried strata of the city above them - the gloomy Bonehouses, mysterious Sunken Sea and freakish Downwood.
With the enigmatic Soulstone in hand, the four adventurers must recover their memories, solve whimsical puzzles and defeat outlandish enemies. From fishing and card games to bardic rap battles, finding the right word is the key to success. Who knows, maybe you'll even remember a little more than you bargained for...

As a fan of word-based games and dungeon crawlers I didn't expect to be so blown away by the delightfully dreadful characters and brilliant use of wordplay to experience the game world. Outside of the gameplay, the voice acting was excellent and having the Cryptmaster react to most words was hilarious. I'd say my only nitpick (which is a personal pet peeve) is that UI elements don't loop around which was annoying when going through the list of cards for Whatever and even when choosing Whatever's letters.1 found this helpful
I enjoyed the game, very different than what I'm used to playing and a breath of fresh air. It's quirky, interesting and for anyone enjoying puzzles and words, I'd definitely recommend picking it up.1 found this helpful
When the typing and spelling game from childhood grows up, dies, gets raised from the dead, and then keeps adventuring. And the number of options in answering questions is staggering. For example, farting to desecrate a shrine to a a self-righteous, overly aggressive, weirdo of a deity.
creative concept overall but its easy to optimise the fun out of the frequent combat encounters
Incredibly creative, engaging, and fun. I love it when games push boundaries and invent new mechanics you've never seen before, and this game does that in so many ways!
It's just kind of not good.
