Disc Dungeon

Disc Dungeon is a very fun take on a classic game that you can play in 15 minutes (or longer, if it pulls you in like it did to me). If you've never played crokinole (my own experience is limited, but I have played it), the game does a good job of teaching you the basics. If you've ever played shuffleboard, you're halfway there. Disc Dungeon elevates crokinole by adding various fantasy factions, each with their own thematic look and feel by way of the several heroes available in each faction. For example, the Elvish-themed faction has a marksman hero that has an easier time lining up shots, and a tree hero (hero?) that, once put into play, grows in size and has a ton of hit points, making it excellent defensive battlefield control disc. The Goblin-themed faction has a bounty hunter hero that earns you gold (which is used to purchase additional heroes and equipment in between rounds) every time it causes damage to enemy discs, and a warchief that can cause critical hits by bumping ally discs into enemy discs (in my head canon, I picture the chief picking up smaller goblins and throwing them at the enemy). Disc Dungeon is a charming physics roguelike with a unique twist. Gameplay is thoughtful and deep enough that I can build unique strategies as my campaign run unfolds. Definitely worth a look!

Disc Dungeon introduced me to Crokinole, and the fantasy layer is a great addition - it's satisfying to land the bear in a strong position, or see your lightning strikes hit a group of enemies! Looking forward to unlocking some artifacts to see what they will do for me.

Love the idea of a tactical RPG based on Crokinole. Especially enjoying all the different styles of disc abilities and exploring the strategies they create. Looks and sounds great too!

Fun and quirky riff of of Crokinole with some D&D elements. Good game to play when you want to both relax and have a little challenge.
