I actually was interested in the story, which is the most important part of a game for me. It still is a very heavy tactical battle game. The player is a woman without any choice. OK, fine. But there are many opportunities for casual sex with various men she meets, and women NPC's, too. For most players of PC games who are men, this may prove distracting. I chose to ignore the dialogue choices which would have led to such dalliances. One has a base, but I wish there was (much) more base building. Upgrading skills, spells, weapons, armor, and fellow fighters are fine. My main gripe is there are too many grinding battles that are very similar. I won't play it again, but I will give it a 65/100.

Poor writing, poor combat conveniences, and other issues. The lack of combat conveniences makes many battles significantly slower to complete than they need to be, and the game's autoresolve is available only when you significantly outlevel the enemy encounter. Also expect inconsistent and poor writing. Case in point (very minor spoiler): You find a character hiding with his companions, and they say they can't leave because of several dangers, including a hungry creature they stand no chance against. You have the option to invite them to join your party. You would expect them to use your pocket portal to reach your base or cooperate with you to successfully escape. Instead, they accept your invitation and leave immediately, without any discussion. They are all devoured by the hungry creature they were hiding from originally.

Honestly it is fun so far however its very basic in so many ways, The UI is very outdated, but the most frustrating thing is getting into dialog to fight and realize they are really high lvl bc game will not show you and its certain death, There is no way to avoid. So choices are play and just die while waiting turns or restart game... how can this very basic be lost on development. To see this game with such a price tag makes it a negative recommendation as it is a $12 game at best for fun but basic.

It will be nice to make fights less predictable

+ Decent game, a variation of the Kings Bounty: The Legend kind of game with more emphasis on building you army and more variation of troops. (no stack of troops but up to 10 field units and 3 in the back.. makes for many intersting combinations to try out.. basically the best part of the game) + Graphics and sound/music is alright, only a few dialog lines have VO for no aparent reason + map design is alright, too many resource pile up already mid game with no apparent use (upgrades and recruiting is super cheap) + main char levels up and has different classes/skill trees to invest into, pretty great (much more elaborate than in Kings Bounty) + main char can use a ton of different items, that are basically just stat boni (pretty boring, missed opportunity for class specific boni or set boni) + other chars can have a single gem which gives a little damage, crit or initiative (adds to the army configuration fun which is okay, nothing to crazy) + the one and only city you have is basically your research hub, upgrade and recruit center (bare bones in terms of Kings Bounty/HoMM-game mechanic, more on the simple end here) The bad and ugly? - Story is as bland and as generic as it gets,…
