✦ AI summary

One Gun Guy is a compact retro roguelike with an interesting core mechanic where you lose upgrades instead of dying instantly, but players consistently report that the gameplay becomes repetitive quickly due to limited enemy variety, stiff controls, and minimal content. Common complaints include input registration issues, unsaved settings, unskippable cutscenes, and a frustrating freeze mechanic after taking damage that feels out of place in a runner-style game. Players suggest the game is only worth picking up if obtained for free, not at full price.

One Gun Guy has a simple concept, but the gameplay gets repetitive very quickly. The movement and shooting feel a bit stiff, and there is not enough variety to keep the levels interesting. It is playable, but overall it feels too basic to stay enjoyable for long.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend buying this for its full price. Upsides: interesting premise (instead of straight-up dying when hit, you loose your upgrades one by one until there's nothing else left to loose), easy to master, easy to 100% (takes around 3 runs, 1 normal to learn the mechanics, 1 hard without dying, and 1 normal without dying and discovering the hidden areas). Downsides: besides the fully AI made allegations, which I haven't bothered to confirm or infirm, it's just bland, a couple enemy types, controls (rarely) do not register, settings never get saved (music keeps blasting you upon restart), controls are not customizable (A & S + L & R Arrows), lazy unskippable cutscenes (e.g. same sound that's looped, sounds awful, not even a buffer or transition between the loops), 0 actual settings besides the sound (which yet again, never gets saved). Best part: runs never get saved. If you so much dare as to restart the game, you have to restart the entire thing. However, I can confirm that the game is safe to download and I haven't had any issues with it while it was on my PC, despite the 'malware' and 'bitcoin farmer' allegations.

Runner game with minimal content or upgrades. plays like bad megaman, but you are frozen for like 4 seconds every single time you take damage, IN A RUNNER GAME.
