Final Fantasy III (3D Remake)

The 3D remake of Final Fantasy 3 is a great, challenging, visually stunning (for the Nintendo DS) video game that actually outright DOES NOT BOOT UP on Steam if your system is modern enough. If you can somehow find/afford the original DS cartridge, definitely play that version (or take to the high seas). But don't waste your money on the Steam port unless you have a surefire way to make the executable actually turn on in the first place. If you're into older, moderately stricter RPGs, and again, your operating system can RUN THE EXECUTABLE, then definitely give this game a shot. I can't really recommend the FF3 Pixel Remaster to anyone looking for a game with story... or characters... or dialogue that matters outside of "go to [PLACE] and get [ITEM]," but I also can't recommend the FF3 3D Remake on Steam because Square Enix doesn't seem to want people to play the game they're selling. Square Enix, I know for a fact you'll never see this, but on the off chance somebody with the influence at the company glances at this review, please update the FF3 3D Remake so that it actually functions on newer systems.

I genuinely do love this game its so adorable and the story could be improved its a typic FF game with dark and evil good and light, i think this could be amazing with modern graphics and modern turn based combat. The grind is something that needs improvement as their is an achievement called jack of all trades where you to have every single class job leveled at 99, which is insane and very punishing and should not be an achievement at all. the summons are also incredible and if their was a modern remake just keep the summons attacks as they are in the game as they are magnificent. The job system is the most diverse i have ever seen with fully upgraded jobs that appear later in the story, i love this more than anything in any final fantasy game ever, it shows it means something special in a boss fight that unlocks something that means something to us as players and actually does has the upgrades described in job descriptions by some NPC characters. Just want to say in case square Enix sees this review, please i beg of you create a modern remake of this special game, the music deserves it.

Great game you have to play it

What a treat to be able to play this version, which was originally released for the Nintendo DS. I must admit I never managed to finish it back in the day. The difficulty curve is very steep, and on many occasions, I had to resort to guides and videos to progress through the story. Generally, when a game gets stuck, I get bored quickly, and unfortunately, I abandoned it for quite a while, just like I did with Final Fantasy II. Everything is wonderful until you reach the Crystal Tower. There, you realize that the professions you leveled up to the maximum possible since almost the beginning of the story are now completely useless. And this is something the game doesn't warn you about at any point. I laugh about it now, but when I was trying again and again, the frustration was immense. Throughout the story, you'll encounter many characters who pass by you fleetingly, leaving an emotional void. It suffers from the same problem as Final Fantasy II, where a new character appeared in each stage only to disappear afterward. The music in this remaster is incredible, very well done and arranged compared to the original version. And the battle gameplay is very entertaining. The problem …

A trip own memory lane

Started playing through all of the FF games. Job system in this one was very interesting. Love the series and enjoyed this installment.
