Ruined King: A League of Legends Story™

''Ruined King'' is a wonderful game, *severely* held back on the technical front. The game's narration, visuals and gameplay are stellar. The combat has a lot of depth, even though in terms of difficulty the game is relatively forgiving (I found consumables to be largely useless, besides revival potions). The voice acting and visuals are wonderfully done, but where the game shines most are the characters. They're expanded upon so well - even having known them from my time playing League of Legends, I was surprised how much more depth they gave their cast. Their interactions were so fun and interesting to witness! That being said, I also need to mention where the game falls flat: this is a ridiculously buggy product. From disappearing UI bugs (not only a hassle, but relatively common, too), to half of the puzzles being bugged, if you don't keep a Google tab open to look up threads on whether X puzzle is bugged or not, you'll be very frustrated or confused. For me, personally, it wasn't enough to really dampen my enjoyment of the overall experience, but this is not the technical quality I expect from a game that is priced at 30 euro. In the first try of this game I hated so much the battle system...but I used with it because I was curious of the story behind and the story it's just WOW...this game style it's not so fun but the story it's amazing. So much lore for a League of Legends player :D

Great game especially if you are interested by League of Legends lore. Even if it is a turn based, there are a few additional original mechanics.

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would! I really enjoyed playing through it and think it's one of the better turn-based RPGs I've played. The story is pretty good, and I like the character interactions, really wish Riot would do more with their great world/characters instead of locking them behind League of Legends (rip Riot Forge). Having turn based combat with three different lanes for speed, 'normal', and power was a very interesting idea and I very much enjoyed juggling my party members around. The 6 characters you have available to you all play fairly unique. Every character has a limited amount of ability points that you spec into their abilities, instead of their stats like a traditional RPG would. Every ability has two "paths" that you can mix and match, leading to multiple ways you can spec them, depending on what role you want them to fill (to some degree). Some gripes I had is that it feels a little unpolished (or maybe low budget?). I loved the music, animations, and voice acting a lot.
