Descent 2

This should not be £20 and I'm pretty sure it didn't used to be when I bought it. I always loved this game but that is silly when no updates have been included here and it's a 30 year old game running in Dosbox.

To me Descent 1 is a sci fi ambush horror shooter. Descent 2 cranks up the pace. Levels are larger, more complex, and packed with tricks. The game shifts into a fast-paced action shooter, with twice as many weapons, most of them either fun or genuinely useful. Maps are full of hidden doors, collapsing walls, and enemies appearing behind you. Secret levels follow their own rules and feel like magical mazes where you cannot save. It is a great sequel to the original. Looking back, I personally prefer the slower, tense, ambush-driven style of Descent 1, where simpler layouts let me appreciate my progress. But Descent 2 is still a solid upgrade and will likely appeal even more to players who enjoy frantic action. For playing it today, the best option in my opinion is the DXX-Rebirth project.
